"You get what you pay for."In this case, you pay AND you don't get much. The plate is really thin compared to better brands and the welds don't look like they will hold up to much abuse. If you look at the pictures, you'll see just three spot welds for each fastener. I doubt they will hold up to real impacts.Also the main vent openings are directly in front of the exhaust header, which would result in hot air flowing in the space between the engine and skid plate. That seems to defeat the purpose of having ventilation in the first place.This plate seems more like an insurance policy, then a true skid plate. It'll probably protect against one accident but don't expect protection if you're into rock crawling or hopping boulders, which I won't be. Also, it comes with four equal length bolts, two of which are too long for the bottom holes. The bolt heads themselves are barely bigger than the hole they are supposed to secure. Recommend adding washers, or better yet just skip this plate entirely.The only saving grace is that they look good. I would avoid these if you are looking for actual protection. Sadly, there isn't much selection for XT250's from Amazon that aren't Chinese copies of each other.

Welds broke in less then a month. Welds on mounting are tack welds that have no penetration

Like other reviews have stated, the supplied hardware is too long by about a 1/4 inch. One trip to Home Depot for some flanged bolts and it went on perfectly. Looks good, welds look like they'll hold up!

Nice plate, bolted up easy ( had to shorten the screws so they didn't hit the engine case) looks good. Does collect mud and such from the front tire.
