I bought this crochet kit for my daughter, and it turned out to be a perfect beginner project! The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the step-by-step video tutorials made the whole process even smoother. The kit comes with everything needed to make two adorable animal amigurumi dolls. The yarn is soft and easy to work with, and it’s a fun way to get creative. My daughter was able to make the dolls herself with just a little guidance. It’s a great gift for anyone interested in learning to crochet, and it’s a wonderful way to spend quality time together while crafting something special.

I got this set purely because my zodiac sign is cancer and adorable crabs are hard to find. Both of these came out really good and the kit is great for beginners. The directions were easy to follow but it is smaller than omes I've done in the past. I didn't trust that it wouldn't fall apart on my regular keys so I added it to my mailbox key. It's so easy to find now and has held up well.

Summary:This crochet kit is designed for adult beginners and for my review I created the Pterosaur. While the kit includes all necessary materials except scissors and features beginner-friendly yarn, some advanced stitches for the wings may be challenging for children. The pattern is easy to follow, but the assembly instructions lack clarity, particularly regarding the order of attaching parts. The instructional video is thorough and helpful, making it easy to follow along. Overall, it's a good project for eager adult learners, and I encourage beginners to watch the videos to create their amigurumi. The Pterosaur - My Experience:This kit is marketed towards adult beginners, and I believe it effectively targets that audience. For this review, I chose to crochet the Pterosaur. However, due to some of the more advanced stitches required for the wings and the need for sewing symmetry, I think kids might find this project too challenging and frustrating. If you're looking for a kid-friendly kit, I recommend this one: https://a.co/d/9RnUjgw, start with the bunny. The kit includes all the necessary materials except for scissors. The yarn provided is suitable for beginners; it's thicker and often referred to as "easy-peasy" yarn. This is a brand name, but there are other versions like the one used in this kit. This type of yarn doesn't unravel easily, but it can be somewhat rigid, making it harder to achieve tight stitches. That said, this is perfectly fine for a first project since you're learning to handle a hook, hold the yarn, and master different stitches. Don't worry about the tightness of your stitches during your initial attempts. The pattern is straightforward to follow, although the wings section introduces some more intermediate crocheting techniques. Beginners can still complete this part with the help of the instructional video. However, I found the assembly instructions lacking. For instance, the pattern simply instructs you to sew the dorsal spine onto the back of the body without any guidance on where to start or the order in which to attach the body parts. This information is crucial for the amigurumi to turn out correctly. I didn't realize there was a required order to sew on the body part until it was too late. The video instruction is excellent. She speaks English clearly, and the camera is zoomed in on the project, allowing you to see exactly what she is doing. The instructor moves slowly through the stitches, making it easy to watch, pause, and replay as needed to master each stitch. Additionally, the current line of the pattern is displayed in the upper left corner, enabling viewers to follow along and learn to read a pattern, while closed captioning at the bottom ensures you don’t miss any details.Though the instructor makes some steps a little more complicated than they need to be, such as creating the magic circle and chain stitch, there are multiple methods to achieve these, and you'll eventually find the approach that works best for you. I struggled with the magic circle until I found a one-finger approach that works perfectly for me, so don't think you can't crochet because you can't figure out one step. In the videos, she takes her time with sewing, making it easy to follow along. As someone who has been crocheting amigurumi for a couple of years, I didn't watch the videos for the extra information that the pattern lacked. I expected that what I needed to know would be in the pattern details. Ideally, all instructions should be available in both the video and the pattern.Aside from the assembly issues, I believe this is a project that an adult eager to learn crochet can complete with relatively good results. I highly suggest utilizing the videos. Finally, remember that as a beginner, your amigurumi will have its own unique look, just like mine (see photo). It's important to keep in mind that your work may not look exactly like the professional's completed project, so don't be too hard on yourself if it differs from the instructor's or the image on the packaging. Most importantly, have fun!

I have done roughly 15 of these crochet kits, from very cheap to very expensive. This kit is on the cheaper end, price wise, but definitely not on quality. I am not a huge fan of the easy peasy yarn and did not really like the woobles kit I did. But the alternative tends to be yarn that is not tightly wound and splits constantly, making the kit very frustrating by the end. This yarn I found was tightly wound and did not split nearly as much. It was soft and glided through my fingers well, but was also stiff enough to hold its shape well. It was easiest to tell it was higher quality when you cut it and it didn’t immediately fray but kept its shape.Besides just the quality of the yarn, the instructions were good. It came with separate printed patterns for the bunny and the owl, as well as a separate one for all the accessory pieces like the eggs. The only part of the instructions I didn’t like was for sewing everything together. That is the part I struggle with most and found it was the least detailed. You just had to follow along with the video, no real explanation.Otherwise, it was a great kit that is suitable for a beginner. I think a total beginner could do it, but would probably be better as a second or third kit. But overall would definitely recommend.

I've been crocheting for forty years, but I actually bought this for a beginner crocheter. She is easily frustrated so I wanted to pick a project that she would like, but also be fairly easy to complete. It works up quickly and can be customized to a certain extent. It contains plenty of yarn and the directions are very easy to follow.
