I've had these for about half a year and they are fine. My acoustic is barely off the wall, but it isn't touching, just very close to it.

I loves that it rotates so I can also hang my bass which is symetrical ! Does the job, i had no issue with installing it! I bought and installed it a few months back and it still is in perfect shape! Love that there is two in the package too (which is why I chose this one).

Hooks have a nice look to them and are sturdy. Easy to install just find a stud and screw them in. Guitar hangs safely out of the way.

There are these and then there are the kind that have a swivel action that locks the instrument in. I wanted those other kind but they were running $25 for one, the foam didn't look any better and one person commented that the fork didn't rotate to accommodate a Fender style headstock, which is important to me.So I got this kit of 2 and installed 1 to test it out for this review. Right off the bat I'll tell you I'm no fan of wall anchors, especially for hanging expensive and heavy instruments, so my only plan was to go into a stud. And that's where the only real trouble with these started for me, because the screw holes, at their horizontal outside edge are 1-7/16" apart, so the centers are just slightly closer together, around 1-7/32" by my eyeball measurement. Since a 2x4 stud is actually 1-1/2" wide, this doesn't give you much room for error trying to hit the stud with all 4 screws. I got the right side pilot holes drilled as close to the edge of the stud as I felt comfortable with, only to find the left side pilot hole not hitting the stud. I ended up angling the left side screws in toward the center to hit the stud, but now they don't sit flush like I'd like. Better that though, than using wall anchors. So my suggestion is they move the holes about 1/8" further in from each edge to give us a little more chance of hitting some wood.Other than that, these hangers are pretty standard for foam-covered hooks. I was in the Container store the other day so I took a look at their hangers with a similar design for hanging tools, and they close off the end somehow with the same foam as on the hook part. I don't know if they melt it that way or what, but I wish these guitar hangers used the same technique so they didn't need those hard plastic end caps. Like someone else said, they probably won't hurt your instruments, but they do have a bit of an edge to them. One thing I found when I was shopping guitar hangers was that several people complained the foam on the hangers they got reacted with the finish on their expensive instruments and dulled it. I'm not going to test that on my Les Paul, I'll just take it on faith that maybe I should cover the foam with some micro fiber cloth and prevent any possibility of a reaction. But I did hang my Taylor acoustic and my Jazz bass on this hook and am really happy with it. It rotates like I need for the Fender head stock and straightens back out for the Taylor. The 4 screws are all hitting wood, so I am completely confident the nice metal back plate is strong enough, even for the Les Paul, which, if you've ever played one, you know is heavy.I don't have kids or stoners running around my place knocking things off the wall, so I don't have to have that locking mechanism the more expensive hangers provide. I'm happy with these, especially 2 for $9.99, and if I decide on hanging a 3rd instrument, I'll just get another set of these so they all match.5 stars if the holes were spaced closer together and the foam tips were sealed off nicer, because the black finish and price are a winner. 4 stars for now

My hubby and both play. We have multiple guitars and while we have hard cases for some of the more expensive ones, specifically his les paul and baby Taylor, some of them we didn't worry too much about, like my Sterling bass. But we don't like digging around in the closet so we keep them out.In the past we've purchased the kind that has the long arm and swivels, but I kept getting snagged on them. Those heart in your throat "oh my god please don't let it hit the floor" moments are hard to take. When I saw the price on these for 2 I really wanted to check the quality and I am happy with them. The foam is thick enough to hold the neck and not scratch it."Rick" gave a fantastic review on the difficulty of mounting these to the studs so I won't belabor the point. I refuse to use wall anchors. Guitars are heavy. We're not talking about a house plant. But that is my personal preference and has nothing to do with the quality. The anchors look fine, I just never use anchors. For the price I have no qualms about buying another set. Or 2.
