This device appears to be well made. I looked at the current rating of 10 amps and then disassembled the switch to look at the quality of the traces on the circuit board. Quality of the traces on the circuit board seems sufficient to handle 10 amps.I then went on to pair the device to my tuya Smart Life hub. The device was found instantly and was paired all in under 20 seconds. Now that the device is paired to the two years zigbee hub I have full functionality where I can turn the switch on and off as well as read the temperature. I'm planning on using this switch to monitor the temperature and when it goes below a certain level I'm going to have the switch kick on and energize a heating cable to keep an outdoor faucet pipe from freezing.Julia is making some very affordable and innovative devices in the home automation space, and this is one of them. Easy to set up easy to use and even easier to create automations all in the Smart Life app.The device has two options for power you can power it via micro USB if you just want to read the temperature. Or you can wire it to household service where that current will energize the the device as well as energize the switch inside the device. The switch can operate in a normally open or normally closed state depending on which terminals you use. This device also acts as a zigbee repeater to strengthen your zigbee mesh propagating the signal further than the centralized zigbee hub can on its own. This is called a repeater function and often you will pay even more than this amount for a device that is just a repeater, but this device is a repeater as well as a functional smart home device.Again like all of the two-year devices I have used in the past the device is affordable and reliable, so if you're into home automation to use the way to go if you don't want to break the bank.

As with any Zigbee device you need a hub for your device to connect to.The pairing was quick and without issue.Mine is 60 feet away from the hub and it still reports a good signal strength. This relay device includes a DS18B20 waterproof temperature sensor. It connects with a dedicated 3 pin connector. It reports temperature and 0.2 degrees Fahrenheit increments. The case does not provide holes to see the status LED's on the board.I guess once the device is set up and then typically use the LED's aren't a big deal.

I’ve been testing this with my Hubitat Elevation hub and overall very pleased with this device. It paired seamlessly, automatically selecting the “Tuya Temperature Humidity Illuminance LCD Display with a Clock (w/healthStatus)" community driver by kkossev. You’ll want to have the driver installed prior to pairing for best results. The temperature probe readings are very accurate and responds to changes pretty quickly using default settings. The ability to power it via hardwire or 5V USB and potential utilize it to control something else really adds to the use cases for this device.I have not been able to get the switching function to work just yet using a few different drivers, but I honestly didn’t try hard.Hubitat reports that it acts as a Zigbee repeater as well. Although nothing in my mesh has used it yet, this is probably due to the current placement and not being in my mesh long.Overall it’s a well priced Zigbee temperature sensor with external probe with good versatility at a reasonable price.

I've been wanting a Zigbee-powered temperature sensor that has a probe, so that I can use it to measure water temperature, and apparently they do exist - but as a combo with a relay. The reason for this is to be able to control something like a thermostat based on the temperature, but it also works as a standalone temp sensor.I was able to integrate this with Home Assistant using ZHA, but the temperature reading didn't show up until I installed a custom ZHA quirk for it - if you're like me and need to do this, and it's not yet integrated into the main ZHA quirks repository, do a search for TS000F_TZ3218_7fiyo3kv ZHA quirk and you should find it.At $20, this is pretty comparable to most other similar Zigbee devices on Amazon, but you can get it way cheaper if you go to another retailer that ships direct from China. However, in that case returns aren't really an option and it'll take way longer to ship, so really you're mostly paying for the convenience I suppose.

I picked this because I wanted simple, standalone temperature/humidity monitoring.I unboxed this, plugged in the temperature probe, added it to my system via Zigbee. Only after looking at the case did I realize it also has a relay that's controlled via Zigbee. But it's missing the Temperature/Humidity readings via zigbee - it's as if it doesn't know the probe is even there.I thought perhaps a firmware update might fix it, but it doesn't even report it's own firmware version via Zigbee, so I'm kinda at a loss. The one bright spot is that it does, indeed work as a Zigbee relay switch. So 1/2 credit I guess?!
