This is a really nice suspended cymbal. Go bigger if you think you need it, but 18" is more than enough for small ensembles, concert bands and orchestras in medium or smaller settings. If you're going to be outside a lot (community bands under a gazebo for example), then you might consider a larger size.The Zildjian brand is my favorite cymbal. I use them for concert and drum set. I've also played the Stadiums in the stands for marching band type stuff. I do not understand why people consider similar Sabiens. The Zildgian just sounds better on ALL fronts. The community band I played in for a while had a Sabien suspended. I started bringing this cymbal and had to remind everyone when we put stuff up that the cymbal was mine and not the band's!
