About this item

  • Blackout material: Cellular blind is made of 0.55" single cell blackout honeycomb fabrics with aluminum foil, which can 100% block sunlight. All honeycomb fabrics have a white backing to reflect even more daylight and provides a uniform appearance from the outside. Both sides can be installed.
  • Energy saving: Unique honeycomb construction offers sound absorption, while also reducing the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays and providing ideal insulation for energy efficiency. These cell shades feature air-trapping honeycomb cells that repel summer heat and winter cold alike for year-round comfort and style.
  • Made to order: The blind is custom made. You can find the feasible size range in the "Customize Now" button on the top right. It's typically installed inside the skylight frame (minimum 2" depth required). Special L-shape bracket is also available for over-the-frame mounting. Please make sure the net size measurement as precise as possible. To avoid any installation interference, the size will be 0.1" smaller in both width and length.
  • Package: Customer self-installs, all the mounting kits, instructions are included in the package. You can also ask for the video or PDF version instructions.

The shades came quickly along with the extension pole. It assembled and installed quickly, but the assembly instructions may be obscure for someone who is not used to assembling things. It's not hard since there are only 4 pieces that need to be fit together with 4 screws. The assembled shade is wobbly, but once it is installed, it's fine. To put this in our skylight, it definitely needed 2 people, not because it's heavy, but because it's wobbly and I'm not sure one person could do it easily.Unlike other users, the extension pole fits fine and works fine. No complaints about it.

I hardly ever write reviews but wanted to chime in here because I was (as I often am) confused to read so many positive and also a bunch of negative reviews. It's possible that they've changed the product in response to negative reviews or maybe a few people got defective versions or something. My experience was as follows:--I measured CAREFULLY and didn't adjust the measurements at all.--Product arrived fairly quickly, well before the latest date listed when I ordered.--Product did include basic instructions and did have pre-drilled holes in the frame (despite some reviews to the contrary on both issues)--I assembled on the floor as instructed. Take care to note which way will face the room if you have different colors on both sides. The part of the slider that has a gap/handle will be the side that faces the room.--The shade fit almost perfectly in our skylight. There is maybe one 1/8" gap on one out of the four sides but I think if it was any bigger it might have been too tight to install.--The hardest part of the install had nothing to do with the product itself, it's just awkward to screw in the screws with one person while also trying to hold the frame in place. I balanced on my head and then gently hammered in a small finishing nail a few millimeters to hold the frame in place while I screwed the frame to the skylight. Then took the nail out at the end. But, a second person and second ladder would have made the job easier if you can swing it.--The blind slides really well and blocks out light effectively. Despite at least one negative review, the 6' pole is plenty strong enough to slide the blind back and forth.--Overall really happy with the product...ended up really not costing much for a custom product and install not too bad at all. (I'm no super handyman guy either...medium level competent at best.)
