Equisetum is a "living fossil", the only living genus of the entire subclass Equisetidae, which for over 100 million years was much more diverse and dominated the understorey of late Paleozoic forests.

I'm happy with the rooting rate, I placed the sticks in water with just a little bit of rooting powder and this are the results after just 20 days!

Followed the directions by placing the cuttings in water. They grew nodules within a few days. Still in water almost 2 weeks with tons of growth. Planting them in soil today. Also sent extras which is nice and they all made it!Update: They all are doing great and I have transplanted them in dirt about 5 days ago!

I received horsetail reed cuttings that looked really healthy. Furthermore I ordered ten and there were way more than ten in the grouping I was sent. I look forward to seeing how they do in my small pond this summer..KerryWeatherford, OK

I received the product but both ends are dry. I follow the instructions but seems that the stems continue to be black and dried on both ends. Should I send it back for refund? or do you suggest I give it more time to see what happens...thanks

This is the third attempt at growing this horsetail as instructed with it failing to root and grow. It just slowly turns grey and dies. I would not recommend from this seller. By the time you learn that it is not going to grow it's too late to return it.

I doubt that any of the cuttings will survive. Maybe, had the seller provided some planting and care instructions, it would have helped. However, when they arrived they didn't look the best, so I'm not sure. I've babied them but...Disappointed in this product.
