Also a great equalizer for panels and windmills that are not rated the same. The windmill part gets really warm at 500 wattsBypass switches or relays are working well for equalization

Used for maintaining camping battery that is only connected for rare use. Instructions are difficult to understand. Never charged battery completely & suddenly just stopped working W/O reason. No changes to settings since initial setup. I have a $1500 battery & have concern it could be ruined from charge controller. The turbine spinning w/o control & concern for damage from high winds & no controller. Says it has the ability to monitor over wifi via phone but that never worked.

Great charger! I have this hooked up to 560w solar and a 400w wind turbine and it does a great job of monitoring the load and charge state of the batteries. I have had this on my boat for over a year now and its still working like the day I got it. I have these hooked up to 6 100ah batteries and a starting/cranking battery, for a house bank of 600ah.The only negative thing: Trying to understand the manual can be confusing and tough to understand. Some notes about the seller:I recently bought a new wind turbine, but this time also from Mars Rock. The turbine that came in was not the correct voltage so I called Mars Rock, and they have been more than helpful, answering all of the questions I had. Great customer service, just shoot them a messege or a call.

Update: company does not honr their warranty or stand by their product. Dont buy from this company. They told me Amazon will handle it even though it was under warranty.Opened yesterday:So far not good. It seems to be charging (gauging from a volt meter) but the display can not be seen so I dont know the options.Hopefully the company will work with me as this is a brand new controller. If they do i will update this. Also the led is illuminated for out and is taking a charge but doesnt show the charge led as active.

Seems pretty good and simple even without instructions but Im still researching and testing . Not at 100 % yet but if successful , then will earn an extra star .

If you are looking for a real MPPT charger this is not the one for you. If you don't care and you want something that will do both wind and solar at the same time then this is a pretty good option. I ended up returning this since it is not a true MPPT charger. Only the wind portion of the charger is MPPT. Also the instructions for this are so bad there is really no point in reading it. Trust me there are no sentences at all that make any sense. Now there is a nice thing about this system. It is all metal so it should have great heat dissipation.

Omg!! This works its awesome!!! If 12v a pwm solar allows panel voltage to flow through in bulk absorb mode to truly utilize the mppt on the wind check your panel open circuit voltage my 12v panel is bout 20 volts open. So here is how I set mine up... 366 amp hour bank upgrading to 488 later... I set float for 14 volts my low voltage for 12 volts my over voltage for 16 volts and wind breaking over voltage to 22 volts. Because in pwm absorb mode voltage from solar can go up to 20 volts so 20 volts plus 2 on the wind generator aide so it doesn't brake in absorb mode. It works great. Very important !!!! If 12 volt battery use 12 volt panels. If 24 volt battery use 24 volt panels. Always connect battery first!!! This system is super performance !!!!
