This is a great tool that can be used to slice uniformly. Use for tomatoes, onions, apples or oranges. it's sharp, so be careful.

Was ensure this would be helpful when slicing vegetables, especially onions. I was surprised at how well it held the onion down and I was able to cut much more precise slices. You can slice between each prong for thinner slices or skip a prong for thicker pieces. I cook for my job and this has been a very nice addition to my utensils.

Better for cutting tomatoes than onions as the tines are a little too far apart. Also, the space for the knife to pass is a little too snug. Your knife can't be too thick. Still, it's handy for cutting slippery items.

We did not find this useful for slicing onions, which is why we wanted it; however, we are keeping it. It will be useful to hold, say, a roast in place when we slice it.

This little gadget is great!!! I have a neuromuscular disease andnthe handle is nice sized and light weight so I am able to use. My daughter livea it as well. I would definitely purchase again.

OK, I have not cut myself slicing an onion yet... but I've had some pretty close calls. Using this holder actually works and you don't have fingers that smell like onions when you are done. In reality, I found the holder more useful for slicing smaller items such as radishes. It's just a neat way to keep your fingers from getting cut. I've also used it to stabilize large roasts without having to use my hands. Seems like a silly thing to buy... but I have found it to be a useful part of my kitchen accessories.
