Using with a 10A solar panel. Works fine, but I had an identical unit (differently branded) malfunction when I didn't follow the directions and hook up the battery first. So follow the directions--hook up the battery first.

This "automatic 12V/24V" solar charge controller worked for all of 4 days, and then today it decided that my 12V battery was a 24V battery, and started applying 29.9V instead of 14.4V to the battery.Fortunately I caught the battery before it exploded since I was doing daily checks on it, but it has a large bulge in it and is completely ruined. If you are using one of these, I recommend you stop immediately. If you are considering buying one of these types of controllers, please don't. All of them are about the same design, and all of them appear to be inherently dangerous.

I bought a Y cable splitter and two Solar Charge Controllers for my boat. I can maintain a charge on each of the two batteries independently with a solar panel.

Works good for a cheap charge controller, I use this on a garden tractor Set up, keeps the battery charged without boiling it off.

It does the thing and you don't even have to press any buttons to connect the load if you connect a battery. Even has a voltage meter and usb chargin ports!
