Super easy to use, great product. I had rats chew into my garage and wanted to cover the holes with something stronger than basic patches. I did fill in the hole a bit too just to be safe. Super quick and easy to use. Wish it came in a bigger size as well but this size was great for most of the holes. Price wise great value. Easy repair job.

These patches will work for a hole up to about 3 in by 3 in in size. The patch is easy to cut with a tin snip, so if you have smaller holes, you can use a single patch to patch up more than one hole.I found the process relatively simple, but I did have a little bit of learning to do.1. Cut the patch with a tin snap to the size of your hole plus 1 in in each dimension. So if you have a 3x3 hole just use the patch at its full size. if you have a 1x1 hole, you can cut this patch into four equal sized patches and use them to patch your holes.2. Before you start, carefully cut off a sample of the paint next to the area of the patch so that you can take it to the paint store and get some paint that matches your wall. You will need this for the last step.3. Take off the backing and stick your patch on over the hole. This part is easy.4. Cover the patch and a little bit of the area around it with spackling compound. Allow it to dry overnight.5. Carefully sand the area. Be careful not to over sand. You don't want to sand to where you are re-exposing the mesh on the patch. If you send that far then you sanded too much. All you want to do is make it smooth.6. Get some joint compound and thin it out with water. Apply it carefully with a sponge until it roughly matches the texture of the area around it. I could not get it to match all that well, but I am satisfied with the result. Let the area dry thoroughly. You can practice this texturing on a scrap board if you're so inclined, but I just did it on the wall and didn't worry too much about it. It looked okay.7. Get some paint that matches the paint on your wall around the area that you patched. Paint stores can make an exact match for the color if you take a little sample in. Hopefully you got your sample in step 2. You can paint over the texture that you created in step 6. Let the paint dry. Hopefully the area will match the surrounding paint pretty well and it will look good.Home repairs are never easy or fun, but these patches make a great starting point. Recommended!

I've never had great luck with patching holes in drywall, in fact, I really suck at it! I can't say I did a really great job using these either - but that is from my lack of patience and skill, the patches themselves did their job as promised, and the end results sure looked a lot better than any previous attempts I've made in my old house! Now, cutting them down to patch a smaller area was really simple, and produced great results! But again, I believe the flaw is in my own lack of skill in the task, not the product! The instructions, I felt, were written for people who have at least some basic previous experience, but one of the other reviewers wrote a highly detailed set of instructions, which, if I had seen that prior to attempting the repair, it all would have worked much better!

These metal self adhesive repair patches for drywall holes from MaxPatch worked out better than expected, though a more aggressive tack to the adhesive would have been preferred as it's hard to have these secured to textured painted surfacing. Overall, it is much easier using these than trying to cut out a piece of drywall so it's something to consider for your next project. Don't forget the joint compound to finish off the edging.
