Wanted to use this for in and out interface with an analog audio mixer to connect it with a Dante digital network. It looked like all the other Dante AVIO dongles (which are definitely made to hook up to analog) but this was the only one that had the male and female xlrs to get input and output. The description mentions analog twice but never digital audio. The title of the product has AES3 in it, which is a digital audio standard, but I did not know that little fact. I thought it was just some alphabet soup, techno, model number. When I got it it, of course, did not work and I had to figure out why myself with lots of wasted time. Please fix the description.

My first unit stopped working after several days. Its been connected to my MTRX Studio via AES/EBU patch. Not sure what caused the AES input to be damaged: accidental sending analog line signal into it or even phantom power or none of them. We are professional studio but these kind of things might happen in some stressful situations. The Audinate selling point is that its built like a tank (and the box itself is) and its aimed for even more stressful environment like a stage. They definitely should be awarded to put some kind of electronic protection against connecting it to anything rather than AES signal. Also make sure to connect it to a proper PoE switch. It should be a managed one. It works perfect with ZYXEL GS1900-8HP. Our previous basic switch didn't recognise it.
