I don't know if this is a great tool or just a tool. all it does it's measure the "viscocity" of the coolant if you will.I think the best way to ensure right water/coolant mix is to either get the 50/50 premix and pour it in or get the concentrated coolant, destilled water and buy a measuring jug to have the exact mix. Buy the proper coolant and read the owner manual.This item is really unnecessary.

I tested this on a 50/50 mix of Toyota Long Life Coolant and water. It showed that the mix was only good down to -7 deg. F. The mix should be good down to -34 deg. F.So either the gauge is bad, or the coolant is bad. I bought the coolant from the Toyota dealership, and the seal was intact. So, I don't think the coolant is bad. This is pretty incontrovertible evidence of inaccuracy.I will either return this item or throw it away, as it is useless.

junk . spelling mistakes on the package and the tester , not accurate and does not fill easily with one pump of the bulb. i threw it in the trash after using it once . don't waste your money

Good for the price. The adhesive on the male part of the body that seals the hose on "let go" immediately. I'd recommend pulling the hose off and resealing it before you use it.

Does what it is supposed to do..... tests the effectiveness of your antifreeze for freezing and boiling points.Like all rubber products, the rubber eventually dries out and cracks over 15-20 years of use. I'm on my third Tester. Bought my first one 50 years ago.

Bought two units, one for myself and one for my grandson. Simple, compact, and easy to use. Had no standard anti-freeze mix but both read the same out of my radiator.
