Part was as described so no issues. The real test will be to see if stands the test of time without leaking too soon.. Like most repair jobs on a VW Beetle, Installation was more difficult than expected due to tight spaces and difficult hose clamps. If you don't have the special clamp pliers for the VW factory hose clamps, I highly recommend you buy them...it will make the job a lot faster and easier. I hate those clamps and ended up replacing them with standard worm gear clamps.

This replacement was my second go round with the leaking coolant temp sensor. The prior brand xxx unit started leaking shortly after replacement. This one has a tighter fit, longer sealing surface and is a much more ridgid unit.

overheated again and this started to breakdown in the first week. Not the parts fault maybe but should not breakdown maybe just melt?
