The install is as simple as it gets, just insert the card into an available PCI slot and let Windows take care of the rest. Once the card was installed and ready to go, it halved the latency from my 360 camera to the user experience. We initially tried the USB thunderbolt version, but clearly going to an external entity added delay, maybe from the cables or the connectors. Being an internal component of the PC now, this capture card removed all external possibilities of latency. Great product.

Good and cheap capture card. Only wish Blackmagic would make cards with a break-out for analog audio as a lot of broadcasters still use analog audio. One of the other alternative out there with break-out analog signals is AJA and they are a class above Blackmagic in every single way but their prices are also a class above Blackmagic.

Very good capture card, bet in the lot.Might have some issues with SDI input circuitry failing after a short while.We're using a lot of these cards and some have input failure within a year (under warranty) and some have quit working after 2 years or so.Not using them 24/7 so it's light to moderate duty.Those said will continue buying since I do not know of a better card out there in this price range.

This card did not perform as the manufacturer said it would and their support could not explain why. We replaced it with the UltraStudio SDI. It works fine. I was EXTREMELY disappointed in Blackmagic's support. I thought they were much more professional than they were.

Works great! Using it on my MacPro Late 2008 model to record live corporate events. Bought a dedicated hard drive and just set it and forget it!
