The oil cap has a magnetic tip which I feel is vary important considering that there is no oil filter on the generator, you can easily monitor engine wear , very important, also the oil fill tube will be handy

the magnetic dipstick is well built, fits very well, o-ring gasket fits perfect, packaged and shipped well. We used this after hurricane Laura, we were out of electrical power for 6.5 days straight. Checking the oil and oil changes were required during that time and the first time I grabbed it to unscrew it (on day 1) - WOW - It was HOTWhen I finally got it out I left it out and used the plastic one that came with the generator that does not get hot.During the week of use 24 hours per day, there was refueling and oil level checks also done during the night, no way to wait until it cooled off.The oil change funnel fits and works great.If you are needing to use the generator around the clock the magnetic dip stick will be hot, if you need to use the generator during the day (or night) and run it the next day (or night) you will not have a problem with the hot dip stick for oil level checks and changes. I gave it 4 stars for the hot hot hot

These two parts make oil changes a great deal easier on the HondaEU2200i inverter-generator.The extension makes draining a bit easier, and keeps any drops awayfrom the interior of the case. Our modus is to pour into anappropriately sized bottom-cut-off water bottle, and then decant thatinto a larger jug for later disposal. As this is new to us and thegenerator is still in break-in, we've not had the chance to use itdirectly; we MIGHT forego the transfer bottle, now that we no longerhave to put the edge under the drain lip to avoid drops inside thecase.The opening is quite a bit wider at the end of the extension piece,and as a result would allow careful pouring from a typical oilcontainer to fill after emptying the crankcase. As well, we maychange our refill modus, as we now use an empty, very thoroughlyrinsed, dishwashing bottle with a push-pull lid. It's easy to fillthat to the proper level (unfortunately, the crankcase takes 14 oz, soyou can't just use a pint bottle of oil) before inserting the closedend to the opening, popping it open with your fingers of the otherhand, and squeezing out the fill oil.The reason for that bottle was that - on the older, narrower, fillopenings of the EU2000i units, I could shut off the flow by merelypushing down on the container, which would close the cap of thebottle I used. This new extension may well relieve me of that need aswell.And, finally, I'm part of an extensive mailing list with manyhobbyists, techies and other knowledgeable folks. The magneticdipstick, say those who should know, will allow extended fill times -double the factory recommended 100 hours - due to its picking up anymagnetic metal residue that, not having a filter, would havepreviously meant that some or most of those particles would remain inthe crankcase on draining. A wipe with a rag or paper towel everytime you start would make for a nearly pristine sump; even just doingit on the times you checked the oil level, as well as, of course, ondrain, will lessen your likelihood of oil contamination from steelparticles.Among those in the mailing list, some of whom have units well over10,000 hours old, these are absolute must-have enhancements to analready remarkable generator.A huge value, and very well made.

The magnetic dipstick oil cap works well to catch metal shavings from engine, especially when it is first new. This is the first thing you should buy and install on a new generator or other new motor. Run your generator for about ten to twenty minutes or so, then change the oil. Wipe the metal shavings off of the magnet, and repeat. It does get hot though, so you will need a glove or rag to take it off, unless the engine has cooled down. Now the funnel helps keep motor oil from getting on the generator frame, reducing the cleanup task afterwards. These are very nicely machined and finished. Highly recommended.
