My dell laptop came with a terrible TN 768p panel. I swapped it out with this 1080 IPS panel and what a difference it made!! Viewing angles are way better and the display is clear, bright and crisp. Took me about an hour to disassemble and reassemble with the new part. I just followed along with a YouTube video and it’s fairly straightforward. Kit came with all of the tools and tape which was a big bonus. Super happy with the display!

I installed this on my Dell Latitude 5240 within an hour or so. I changed out the low res TN panel that came with my 5240 and put this full HD IPS panel in.Overall the installation, on a scale of 1-10 in difficulty, was about a 4 or 5. I watched videos on youtube on how to remove and I found one that doesn’t require you to remove the entire monitor from the body. You will have to be very careful when removing the bezel from the screen. Take your time and go slow.Keep in mind that this listing is ONLY for the screen, as the seller stated. You will have to reuse the brackets that hold the screen onto the frame from the old screen. You do this by slowly pulling the black tab and stretching out the adhesive until the brackets come lose.IMPORTANT! You’ll need thin double sided tape, about half an inch wide to stick the brackets onto the new screen so that everything can be secured to the housing and not move around. Or if you want I guess you could use glue.Prior to putting the bezel back on the newly mounted screen, make sure you remove any balls of adhesive around the bezel. Those balls will cause a gap between the bezel and screen after finishing. Reinstalling the bezel for me was the trickiest part. It will take some tweaking and tuning. Be patient and make sure it clips back into the screen housing all the way around. Don’t be afraid of taking the bezel off and starting over again a few times. Be patient. On first power up after putting everything back together I got the Dell bios logo, and then it started to jitter and get static and then went full black. I panicked at first, so I held the power button down to reset. Once it reset the computer started up like normal. Dell logo>>windows login screen. Everything seems to be good now. Ngl, I was sweating after that first start up. Maybe the computer was taking time to adjust/calibrate to the 1080p display coming from 768p. I’m not entirely sure, but it works now.Overall the colors and resolution of the screen are a MASSIVE upgrade from the TN panel. I think it’s criminal that companies still offer a TN panel in 2022, but whatever. This screen will NOT turn your Latitude display into a MacBook Pro Retina display, but it will be significantly better than the TN display panel.I will update this review on the screen if there are any issues as time goes on.
