As a retired painter ive used these for years. I kind of chuckle when I see units that you use in drills. After a week a cordless drill would be covered in paint and look like crap. The reason these feel flimsy is because you can take the cap off and put a few drops of oil on the plunger so it operates smoothly. You can also clean the plunger if needed. With employees using these they really take a beating and last. The guys and gals who use these usually don’t care about taking care of stuff so the unit takes a beating. The jaws on good ones do not loosen up because if they did you would have paint brushes coming out and flying all over. The unit is a good investment even for occasional painters.

It functions like similar tools. Unfortunately, I've had a hard time inserting brush handles into the secondary jaw; its too tight and more likely to dig into the wood handle than spread and hold.

Okay:uThe good: It works and does what it's supposed to do. I like to spin out brushes and rollers because they dry faster and everything seems to get less stuck together so the next time I use that brush or roller, it seems newer than it is.It spins them a lot and then lets the spinning coast down, it doesn't stop immediately after you pull the plunger which is good. I just pump the plunger and it spins fast for maybe 20 seconds and it's done. The bad: It's not the greatest construction. It's made of metal but it feels kind of loose. Then there's putting a brush into the jaws. It takes a lot of force to get the brush in there. Once it's in there, it stays for sure. It's not hard to remove it. Putting it in can get frustrating. I think it will get easier with time as the jaws start to loosen up from use.I'd buy this again, it's low cost and it makes cleaning brushes easier.
