This a good tool to have in traveling tool box. In a pinch this can make real good temporary clamps

I can say this is the coolest tool in my toolbox. You can make any clamp size you want. Definitely need a little room to use it, but even if you can’t push the tool all the way over you can push with a flathead screwdriver while cutting the wire to get it almost just as tight as using it properly. Still tight enough for the radiator hoses on my dirt bike that I just could not get to stop leaking with the Honda hose clamps on these aftermarket radiators.Tool is beautiful and I’m sure it will last forever. You will need some practice or patience to get the clamps looking good, but I didn’t find it that hard to do.

Saw this advertisement somewhere, and bought this. And I'm not disappointed. It works. Love it.

I've coveted one of these since the first time I saw one demonstrated. I've used mine to repair hoses and add fittings on the end of hoses. I've also used it to clamp supports to failing brackets, braces and shafts. The finished wire clamp is aesthetically pleasing and if the ends are tucked in as the instructions suggest, they DO NOT snag on anything. What held me back for a long time was the price. Seemed kind of steep for what it was. In retrospect, I should have taken the plunge a long time ago.The tool is well made. I would rate it about the same as my Snap-On tools.Expensive? Yes. Worth it? For any mechanic, handyman or maker, Definitely. If you have a mechanic, handyman or maker in your life, here's a tool they might not have that they didn't realize they needed.

Purchased this tool to produce safest solution, short of welding (which wasn’t an option). I secured split and failing metal NSF shelf collars using twice wrapped, size 0.51, Aircraft Safety Wire. I tightened beyond what I felt was necessary, just to ‘see’; no problems. This was a metal to metal application ie. no distortion unless there’s a wire failure. The tool and wire created a strong pressure-wield.Thoughts:1. Correct wire for the job = good results (in an emergency, do what you have to do eg. hangar wire) Disclaimer: This isn’t my ‘area’, however, due to the tools design and minimal effort required to tighten, I’m sure it can snap any wire up to 0.61 , hence my selection of annealed and relatively high tensile strength wire.2. The tools designed procedure for locking after achieving desired wire pressure, doesn’t apply additional pressure ie. further tighten the wire. This is a deceivingly difficult and beneficial bit of engineering.

Works as advertised! Yes, a little tricky to use the first few times, and somewhat cumbersome even with larger diameter hard SS wire. If you want to use larger wire with it, maybe look into some Monel instead of SS aircraft wire. I made some 0.051" clamps for some intercooler hose boots where they passed through the cowl on a Cummins swapped WWII truck. There was no room for T-bolt or worm gear clamps, so this was a great solution for pre-assembly.Note that this device doesn't work in a really tight area because you have to flip the clamp over 180 degrees to close the clamp out. To remove the clamp, just cut the "bridge" with some side cutters. I ordered some .041" SS wire to try with again to see if that goes easier. I'll use my 0.032" for garden hoses and such. The price point IS a little high on them, however to build one yourself, from the stainless materials and brass, your time better not be worth anything and you better plan on making a lot of them. I'm okay with someone making some money on this very useful tool.Watch the video on how to use it. It explains things very well.
