Product Description

Sharp technology with a new twist! This downcut spiral bit is made of a special super-micrograin carbide formula which makes the cutting edges very sharp. The new low-angle spiral is designed to shear wood cleanly and provide excellent chip ejection. As a result, the tool will run cooler and the cutting edges will last longer The spiral bit produces an excellent finish on the upper side of your workpiece. Excellent cutting results and enhanced productivity.

From the Manufacturer

Our new high performance solid carbide spirals are engineered for faster feed rates and long cutting life. New super micrograin carbide formula offers extremely sharp and longer lasting cutting edges. Low helical grind shears material with more efficient chip ejection. The tool works less, runs cooler and out performs the competition. Our new precision machinery was designed and built to CMT spec's. We now manufacture solid carbide spirals with the tightest tolerances in the industry. You won't find a better performance in tooling.

I use his bit on my cnc machine for cutting 1/4” grooves and rabbets. Wasn’t sure what ‘sheerness’ is supposed to mean but gave 5 stars because this cutter sheers off the wood fibers cleanly.

This is just the nicest, cleanest bit I own. Look at the pocket under the letter 'O' in the picture! I used to use a down-cut until the last couple of passes and then switch to an up-cut (for pockets, I mean) but now I just use this bit. Actually I use this bit more than any other. Buy it.

Works great in my Shapeoko CNC. I’ve used it on oak and birch plywood. I run it at 90ipm on level 2.5 on the Dewalt router and that produces nice chips and heat evacuation with them. Will definitely buy again!

Awesome bit. Arrived sharp and I have cut a few hard woods with it..And it's still sharp-It's better quality than what you can get at the bog box stores and a few dollars cheaper as well. Seems to hold up better too. This will be my go to bit and go to seller on my next bit when I need one..

1st off, If you've never used a down cut bit you need to go ahead and purchase this. You'll thank me.Extremely impressed with this bit. I actually bought this thinking it was a o-flute bit, I was upset that I ordered the wrong bit but decided to try it out anyway, I am very glad I did.I ran this is a slightly modified X-carve 1000mm x 1000mm CNC router. The X-carve is not a fast or strong machine, after seeing how well this cut I decided to see how fast I go go.Cutting hardwood plywoodStarted at .125" depth per pass @ 70 ipm. Dewalt dp611 set on "2" speed = Beautiful finish.I increased speed by 10ipm untill i160ipm when the finish just started to suffer. I could have probally speed the router up to 3 or 4 and gone all teh way to 200.I found the sweet spot to be around 140 ipm.To compare, I can run the cheap Chinese o-flute bits at 100 imp in MDF but I stay around 80 imp to be safe. I've never ran a full depth cut at these speeds. This is on a x-carve, I imagine on a solid machine you could get incredible speeds from this bit.

This is a wonderful bit. I am using it for CNC work, and I found that the kerf it cuts is closer to .244 inches than .25.
