This little solder kit works well for what it is. I have had several battery powered soldering tools over the years and I had to understand the power and how it works to make it more effective. this one was no different, it is great for quick jobs on the go, but do not expect this to replace your solder station. This is perfect for small projects or repair jobs. It was a also a good introduction for children to learn the science behind soldering. I was able to explain and demonstrate how it worked and they were mesmerized but the fact that it could "melt metal".If you find the need to solder small items, this is perfect for that.

Just don’t. First day tip stops heating at the tip - one tip breaks, the other won’t stay in the gun.Don’t waste your time.

In my experience this was not very easy to use because it took a while to heat up. The number on the displayed I don't feel accurately represented the temperature of the probe. It wasn't as efficient to decided hoped. I ended up returning this item.

I let the iron heat up to max temp just to do some testing. It worked great for the 10 minutes I used it for, then it sucked the next time I used it. It was like it was under temperature. I tinned the tip and it worked great again, and then mid-way through soldering it started cold solder. I think the internals just don't keep the temperature up for long periods despite the outside digital reading. Would give higher rating if it worked great all the time.
