The art of crocheting stuffed animals is called amigurumi. This took me forever to actually do this craft, but now I'm hooked (pun intended). Easy to follow, all the materials are included. I've crocheted scarves, hats, and ear warmers before but not stuffed animals. The magic ring is the hardest part in my opinion. You should have basic knowledge of crochet, even though all instructions are included, it's helpful to know basic stitches, otherwise it's a lot. I can't stop making cute animals now- I've been looking up patterns and just bought yarn. If you know what you're doing, this works up quickly! Great gift for a crafter.

The practice yarn they give you splits very easily and the hook provided is so tiny that learning as an absolute beginner is very tough. I watched the videos many times over but didn't grasp certain techniques because the white practice yarn wasn't staying together and the hook was too small. Could work for someone who already knows how to crochet but I didn't.

Such cute little animals! I ordered this kit for my teenage daughter who wants to learn how to crochet. The bunny is her favorite! This kit is well-packaged and organized. The yarn colors are bright. The instructions seem fairly easy to understand and follow. I ordered a different crochet kit at the same time, and in comparison, the instruction booklet that came with this YESJOLI kit definitely seems more friendly for beginners. This makes a great gift!

This set contains all the tools and yarns (and stuffing material) needed to make 3 different crocheted animals - a frog, a bunny, and an owl.An instruction booklet is included, but it contains all the shorthand and abbreviations needed to make each pattern. It has been multiple decades since this Grandma crocheted, and I don't recall us having written instructions when we made that year's Christmas presents. The good news is that a video tutorial is available for the kids to learn with.My grands are all sharp, so I'm betting that they will pick up the booklet shorthand quite quickly.

My friend, who is a hobby crocheter, says this does NOT look like a beginner's set. She was correct. I really struggled with it because there are skills I do not have and my first one came out deformed. Try something with a simpler shape for your first!
