The amount of stuff that comes with this bag is incredible. The bag itself is well made with pretty heavy material so it should hold up to constant use. The shoulder strap is nice for carrying the bag around and the smaller straps are good for just moving the bag from one spot to another. It has a small hole on the top where you could thread the yarn through while using it so it won’t tangle. The small pockets on the outside to hold the crochet hooks are nice, it makes them readily accessible. You can fit more than 1 hook in them too. I like that it comes with a variety of size hooks as well as some with the ergo handles. The amount of stitch markers and yarn needles are great if you use them. I like that it came with scissors and a measuring tape. I’m always looking for one to measure how big my blankets are and now I don’t have to worry about that. There are a nice amount of small skeins of yarn in a variety of colors. They will be nice to make a small hat or even use several of them to make a multi colored blanket. This is perfect for someone just learning to crochet as it has everything you need with one purchase.

Like many of these beginner kits, how much value you get from this kit will depend in part on why you're buying it.As an all-in-one kit, you get plenty of bang for your buck here. The bag is decent quality and you'll have more tools than you'll know what to do with or, for that matter, ever need. The sheer volume of equipment that you receive with this kit might be legitimately overwhelming for a beginner. And while "too much stuff" isn't really a knock, it's also true that you probably won't be needing most of what comes in the box.That said, you do get a decent pair of scissors, a ton of relatively comfortable crochet hooks, and lots of yarn. By far, the yarn is the best value in this kit. I don't know what material it is for sure (the kit and the listing contradict each other), but it's soft and seems relatively high quality. The sheer number of small skeins of different colors is a huge plus, though. The yarn is a great value by itself if you're making granny squares, but it's also a nice way for a beginner to start a small collection.Ultimately, any complaints I have about this kit are very minor, given how much you get for the price. While I'd probably give this 4.5 stars if I could, I'm more than comfortable recommending this set to anyone starting out on their crocheting journey.

Every starter kit has at least one thing that drives the value of the whole kit. With this set it is the bag itself. It has multiple pockets inside out. The outer pockets are for storing and organizing the tools needed for a project. The inside is divided for 5 segments to store multiple projects, and/or separate the yarns in case of a color work. For this purpose there are multiple eyelets to feed the yarn through and do the crocheting (or knitting!) right from the bag - no rolling skeins, no mess, so it is also perfect for to do some needlework while traveling.The rest of the content is average at best. It comes with a lots of crochet hooks in various sizes, the larger, aluminum sizes are encased in an ergonomic handle, the lace metal hooks are not. The sizing of the hooks is also a bit off, but because of the wide variety, there is a hook for every yarn-weight from the very thin crochet threads to bulky yarns. The bigger problem though is the unpolished finish on the hook parts - preventing a smooth slide of the yarn or thread. The addition of the tiny hooks seem to be an afterthought since there is no thin crochet thread included in the package.There are also some other useful tools, some of them very specific to projects I never do, so when I found the pom-pom maker dirty and otherwise badly made (there are access plastic hanging around catching the yarn), I wasn't off-put about the whole product.There is also a little instruction book included to learn basic crochet stitches, magic ring, and some useful tips.The yarn supplied is a rather good, 5-ply, low pill, milk cotton yarn. It has a little bounce (stretch), which makes it perfect for amigurumi projects. The color selection is odd a little bit, there is no white, black or vibrant colors included, just mostly pastel shades of colors. The yarn itself, though, is perfect for beginners - it doesn't readily split, it is soft, and holds shape, and it is enough to make lots of toys, or small, starting projects to learn all the basics and beyond.Overall, it is a very good beginner needle-yarn artist set, it can be a great idea for gifting!
