The stands are sturdy, have a nice textured finish, and have a decent weight. They assembled very easily. The only negative is that you can only fill the big post, and then only through the small holes made for cable management, which you have seal with duct tape. Filling with sand was impossible. I used kitty litter. So if you really need to have additional weight (toddlers, cats) in the stands, look elsewhere.

I spent hours looking at many different stands on amazon.com and was really worried about getting cheap and chincy stands. You hear horror stories of people buying a product and getting the crappy lookalike Chinese product that actually weighs 1/2 the amount.I’m very happy to report the stands are quite heavy and very supportive, just as advertised. They are holding a set of Focal Chora 806 front speakers and no sand was needed to fill them as they were heavy and stable enough by themselves. Very pleased with these stands, so glad I bought them. I highly recommend them.

These stands are relatively heavy and all steel. The hardware is also high quality. Steel/rubber feet are included for hardwood floors like mine. My Elac Debut 2.0 B6.2 speakers fit well on these and are not easily toppled, despite being pretty hefty for bookshelf speakers. The stands are attractive enough, although not the prettiest I have seen. The assembly process is very basic and intuitive. This is a good thing because the included instructions are quite spare. My final judgement is that these are an excellent value and should outlast me quite easily.

Great stands easy to assemble. Painted the stand a gloss black to match my speakers. You cannot place sand or lead shot into these because of the semi sealed top and bottom connections. Ended up spraying a damping material into each leg in order to reduce the amount of vibration of the tubes. Worked great. They look better in gloss black than the matte black that they arrived in. Just purchase a can of gloss black paint and they look like $300 stands. Two tubes are one size and the third is larger. Reduces the amount of vibrations through the legs by the system.

I needed a pair of stands for my NHT SB3's and definitely wanted metal stands, problem is, they cost a lot. I stumbled onto these and decided to order them.My first order arrived with an open box, missing one bottom plate, Josh in customer service took care of the issue and I finally had a second unit 5 days later. The stands are very study, though the alignment of the center threads could use some work. I filled the weld joints on both ends of every tube with hot glue then filled all of them with sand. I plugged the wiring holes on the backs of the larger tube with some carbon fiber vinyl I had laying around. It was very tedious since and took some time, practically using up roughly 30lbs of sand but it was so worth it.I modify speaker crossovers and both my NHTs were upgraded to Polypropylene caps. The most immediate thing I noticed I fired them up set on the stands was definitely better performance all around. The bass solidified, overall focus became evident, sound staging got really spooky playing Jazz tracks, needless to say, I am very happy!I wouldn't call them spike, but cones, included for carpet placement. The stands were so heavy sand-filled that they pretty much dug in with all that weight. Overall build, for the price, is a steal! I am not expecting $60+ stands to perform like more expensive models..that's being realistic. I think a lot of people posting a review don't understand the price gaps of wood vs. metal stands and metals advantages.I actually hear my speakers the way they were supposed to sound, without stand resonances....makes my crossover mods more accurate since the stands are out the way acoustically. Will be buying another pair for a friend as a gift.

You get what you pay for. Not audiophile grade stands, but they get the job done. I would recommend filling them with some type of ballast as they are pretty top heavy with speakers on them. The spikes are pretty lame and on some the screw threading ends before they are flush with the base plate - causing more wobble. If you do not fill them, the hollow tubes may resonate from the transfer vibration from the woofer.I gave these stands two stars because they are better than my speakers sitting on the floor. I will probably try to sell them and get a pair of Sound Anchor Stands in the future.

Had been searching for a sturdy metal, sand fillable set of 24" stands/ Ordered several, sent them all back due to being not what would work. I needed to stand mount a pair of Chane A2rx-c center channel speakers being using as my L & R. They would be sitting on their ends, and weigh 27lbs each. These Dayton stands works very well with my speakers. However there were a few quirks. First of all, if a company advertises stands to be fillable, they should provide some plugs or caps to allow you to block the holes in the tubes for running wire thru them, otherwise they are not really able to be used that way. Every single stand that I looked at was the same way, blows my mind. I had to buy some 3/4" black plastic sheet metal hole plugs to plug the two holes in each 3" tube. They sort of worked, except where the powder coat/paint thickness on the edges of the holes was too thick & they would pop out each time. Finally had to glue them in. These are quite sturdy stands, and overall are of good quality, especially for the price. After I got them all assembled, I noticed that one of the top plates didn't sit level, causing the speaker to lean to one side. Had to stick some thicker adhesive backed pads on one side to get it back to being level. I guess you get what you pay for. Had a problem with one of the tubes not have a good paint finish, Parts Express customer support was EXCELLENT on getting this quickly remedied for me.
