Suction cups are strong when windshield is clean and cups are slightly damp, but does not adhere well in freezing temperatures. Biggest problem: with an 18 foot, 60 lb sea kayak (which is very unstable when propped up on end), the roller does nothing to keep the boat from slipping sideways. Might work better for a shorter and/or lighter boat, although I find it interesting that, as with other rollers I've seen, none of the videos show the user sliding the boat up from the propped up position.

Looks like this could be a good product but unfortunately it is incomplete. Should be a bolt and nut for both suction cups but I only have one.Perhaps if the supplier reads this they can pop one in the post...

I am a 65 year old 5'3" woman and can lift my kayak onto it and it slides very earily.Just make sure the window is clean first and the suction is strong.

This is not worth a cent - the roller doesn’t roll. Dont bother purchasing.

The suction cups are strong and easy to affix with the rest of the device robustly built. Works just as advertised. Good value for price.

Does the job. As mentioned in instructions and in some on-line reviews, do make sure that the glass is clean and that the suckers are properly attached BEFORE putting a load on. Has transformed my canoeing experience.

I've had this kayak roller loader for 2 years now and it's still very sturdy. The section on which you roll the kayak is made of thick rubber that won't break, and makes the tool surprisingly heavy. I use mostly to load a 50ish pound kayak on the roof of a 2013 RAV4 and it works quite well. The secret for success and most of the frustration comes in the installation of the suction cups. Especially the suction cup on the right since the back windshield has some curvature to it, making it more challenging to install in the absence of a flat surface. Yes the windshield needs to be clean, but more importantly the suction cups require some moisture (water or saliva) to properly stick and thump into place. The clamping levers are not properly engaged if you don't feel resistance as you're engaging the lever and hear a solid "thump" as you close the tabs. Otherwise, the suction cups won't properly stick to the windshield - hence the comments highlighting a lack of stability and difficulty in sticking. It's a frustrating process but once properly attached it to your vehicle, it's a great tool that will save your car paint, your back windshield, your spoiler or wind deflector, and your lower back.

Bought this to load our kayaks onto our SUV (Mercedes GLE). Its a great bit of kit - the feet are fixed on in a way that allows them to fit to a curved windshield - our rear windshield is very curved and this fits perfectly. It's a semi hard roller so it holds the kayak and rolls easily - I can load the kayaks myself. Thoroughly recommend this bit of kit.
