The brass nuts are junk. When installing the studs put loctite on them. Then install aircraft style lock nuts instead. Had them back off twice before doing what I mentioned above.

No manifold gaskets sent. Had to drive 30 minutes to town to get gaskets.

I’ve gone though two of these in about a year. The most recent one cracked open in less than 1,000 miles. They’re coming from a bad casting. You can see after they split open that the metal looks crystallized along the crack. Cheap steel and poor castings makes very bad components. Save your money, this exhaust manifold won’t last a month!

Casting looks poor and very cheaply made, however fits well and comes with all the necessary gaskets. Haven't driven the truck much so not sure how it'll hold up long term.Remember to replace your engine mounts at the same time to prevent premature failure of the exhaust manifold.

I'm a rank amateur, so it took me a while to get this job done but it did go and it did make sense as it went. As the top reviewer mentions, biggest issue for me was with the EGR, so yeah, get that 24mm pipe line wrench from amazon and make sure to thread and unthread it onto the manifest before the final install. I commented more on that person's post. Haven't driven it yet so can't comment on that one guy who claims exhaust is escaping in weird places, but sounds like maybe he or she didn't use the gasket? The heat shield can also be a minor PITA, but just keep working the angles and eventually it'll go on. I bought this for my 1997 Nissan Hardbody D21 pickup, the price is right so instead of combing junkyards for a uncracked OE unit I went with this one this is my thoughts on this exhaust manifold both good and bad. Thee reason why I am only giving this manifold four stars instead of five is a couple of simple things, the casting is pretty ruff when compared to the Japanese unit it replaced, being after market you would think that Dorman would fix the original problem of the manifold being able to crack by maybe adding a little bit more material in the form of a truss in between the front and rear exhaust logs. Now my only other issue is it is made in China. How much more could it possibly cost to make it in the USA, Japan, South Korea or Europe? I am tired of supporting people that don't like my country.OK the last complaint is the gaskets come in the box in simple plastic bags they should come in another box to protect then during shipping from that heavy cast iron manifold from smashing them or worse bending them.OK now the goods that manifold was pretty straight forward to install, I checked with a straight edge that the mounting surface was flat and true, it came with new studs for the down pipe to mount to and it even came with the adapter fitting for the O2 sensor, it came with flange dounuts and the head to manifold gasket. The drilled/machined holes for the EGR pipe and O2 were true and clean, a personal recommendation for removal of your old manifold is get a proper fitting line wrench for removing the EGR pipe, or just buy the new pipe right out the gate. I ended up cutting mine off and having to remove the pipe and welding it back together if I would have thought about this and had a quality wrench or a new pipe this would have been about a 1 hour project, my other recommendations is either buy a new oxygen sensor or buy the socket for removing it a box end wrench may strip it being a 12 point oh and be sure to coat everything in antisieze during reassembly that way you won't have to fight with this mess again if you have to take it back apart.

Exhaust manifold as described, but the gaskets were inside with the SOLID CAST IRON MANIFOLD and were crushed. Dorman was nice enough to include double the needed head to manifold gaskets to accommodate this issue ( I guess) both sets were trashed. Be prepared to purchase gaskets at a local parts supplier. Issue could be remedied if the gaskets were placed between the cardboard flaps of the box, taped actually.
