- The controller connection sequence is Battery--Load--Solar Panel, and discounect the system in the reverse order Solar Panel--Load--Battery
- Connect components to the charge controller in the sequence as shown above and pay much attention to the “+” and “-”. Please don’t insert the fuse or turn on the breaker during the installation. When disconnecting the system, the order will be reserved.
- After power on the controller, check the LCD on. Always connect the battery first, in order to allow the controller to recognize the system voltage
- Accumulative power zero clearing: Under PV power interface, press SET button and hold on 5s then the value blink, press SET button again to clear the value.
- Setting temperature unit: Under battery temperature interface, press SET button and hold on 5s to switch.

I have this solar controller set up on 12v connected to 3, 100 watt panels in paralle. It provide charging power for two 12V, 840Amps GEL cell batteries in paralle. It is running our weather station on 24/7 and it include the survalience camera for the yard. It has been in operation for a month and it perform above expectation.

Overall, this unit seems to work okay as advertised. However, I have an issue with the displayed PV voltage which is 2 whole digits and no decimal point. This leaves one to wonder if the displayed PV of say, 20 volts is actually 19.9 or 21.1 VDC. It needs to display one decimal point to increase the accuracy into something more useful. I will probably find a different charge controller and keep this as an emergency spare.

Ignore the black tape in the pictures as that was my temporary mounting solution until I could test the unit.The LCD can only be read if you’re looking straight on. It appears blank at even the slightest viewing angle! But that’s only the beginning of the issues.- Neither USB port would charge my phone- The battery status icon is worthless. I set the controller to Flood as directed by the instructions. But it only showed 3 of 5 bars at 12.8V which is actually 100% charged for flooded lead-acid batteries. It showed 2 of 3 bars at 12.6V which is actually 90% charge.- The controller LCD constantly rotates through 8-10 displays (depending on operation) which I found annoying. Let me select the one I want please.- I didn’t bother connecting my solar panels to verify whether it would limit the charge voltage going to the batteries. Their previous model let it all through, risking frying my batteries.Based on my experience, I’m very suspicious of all the glowing reviews. I’ll be returning this product ASAP!

This controller was the exact replacement for the original that came with our Xantrex solar kit. The original had a positive wire that could not be extacted without damaging the device. It has been working fine since the replacement. Shipping could have been faster.

Great information on the screen....for example, if you have a load pulling 500 mA and the panel is providing 5.9A, it'll break it down with 5.4A going to the battery and the load of 500mA. Solid item

So far I have found these Epever controllers to be very reliable and effective; also what I like about them is the screen display of the various voltages and currents from the solar panels and the batteries; you don't normally see this in PWM controllers; they are definitely good for the price.
