I'm not very good at installing electrical, so someone else installed it. It has worked perfectly so far.

I connected this to 4 flexible monocrystalline panels rated 100 watts each. Panels wired in 2 parallel sets, then series connected the 2 pairs for open circuit voltage around 45 volts. I am using a size 8D flooded lead-acid battery with about 200 amp-hours of capacity and 12 volts. The primary load is a Xantrex 3kW sine wave inverter. I was getting 125 watts solar charging in the 4pm late afternoon sun with the panels mostly flat and two panels shaded. Controller came in a kit with the remote, which I highly recommend. I only needed the manual for a minute at first, then everything in the setup was intuitive. This seems like a rugged, well built piece of electronic hardware. I will update this review if anything goes wrong, but initial functionality looks great.

This review is for Tracer4210AN.I had thought that 24v panels would charge my 24v panels. This is incorrect. I reached out to Epever support and they informed me I must supply 34v to charge 24v batteries.Thankfully I have two of the panels and moved from parallel to series and it's charging the batteries great. Looking at the panel voltage and the battery voltage and controller parameters, I'm not certain there's ever an ideal setup without lots of lower voltage panels where one can get the perfect pairing for the least loss, however in lower light I should still be supplying enough voltage to charge - not certain on amperage, time will tell.

I had Renogy and burned it up, my fault. This one has bigger holes for cables and it works Great.

This charge controller seems to work alright although I am not impressed with it's low-light performance compared to Morningstar controllers I've used. The big problem is that the voltage registered by charge controller and displayed on the MT50 is off by about 0.5V near boost voltage. So, I've had to fudge the boost voltage to a higher value than I want the batteries to actually get to in order to compensate for the falsely high reading of controller. It's a cheezy fix and I shouldn't have to do that. There doesn't seem to be any calibration either and the discrepancy isn't always 0.5V, it's less at lower voltages. One nice thing is that the controller has a temperature cutoff to protect lithium batteries from charging at low temps. It is default set for 0 degrees C and says the user can change it. But I have not found any way to change it in any of the parameter menus, and try to get some help from Epever, it's hopeless.

Love this controller! I researched a lot before buying, and watched a lot of YouTube that recommended it. I was impressed with the company and how involved they seem to be with their products. The instruction manual is well done. Easy install. Syncs easily with the remote control panel which is easy to use. Great price. I think the blue brand that starts with a V is a rip off since this one does it all, including connecting to smartphone or laptop at much lower price.

Controller is working great, easy to program and understand settings. It's a 40amp controller but have seen it peak at 45amp w/ no problems. Hooked up to 3x160w poly panels in Hawai'i, output is @ 2kwh/day, very happy with this unit. 🌴😁👍
