I have chalk markers for fabric that work like this but they are an odd shape and did not work well in my hand. This set (white and blue) is like a marker in barrel and flattens out to enable you to run it along a ruler. Of course you can use it free hand as well. It is the same mechanism as the oddly shaped one that uses a tiny gear to lay down the chalk. All in all I am very happy with the results.

I loved these at first. They do dust up a little but work well. Only issue is I can’t get the blue chalk out of some white eyelet I used for a shirt

Not sure I like this versus the smooth chalks. The edge is rough and catches on the fabric. So it seems limited on the fabrics I would want to use it on. I’m going to try to smooth the edges with an emery board to see if that would help

These work great for marking the lines I need while quilting.

Only thing that has worked when marking back of faux fur. Makes drawing pattern so easy.

These chalk markers are very useful for anyone that traces patterns. This way, you don't keep breaking your chalk, or getting chalk on your hands!

The chalk stick was easy to handle and apply. However it is not easy to remove the chalk lines from my quilt. I will not be using it again to mark my quilt unless someone gives an easy solution to remove the chalk
