Good shocks for the price, work well off-road

I Installed these on a 2000 Toyota Tacoma Ext Cab SR5 (5-lug). They are much stiffer than the OEM shocks with 265k on them... to say the very least! I won't compare them to brand new OEM shocks because I have no basis for comparison. The shocks came with an adapter to convert the EB1 fitting to the E3, which makes it compatible with this year model. There was an adapter piece exactly like the E3 but smaller and two other tube pieces that could adapt the shock for other applications. I did have some trouble on the install worth noting, so I marked it down a star:The shock was too wide in diameter to install from the hole in the lower control arm. I ended up using a coil spring compressor with the coil off the vehicle. Next I used HD zip ties to keep the coil compressed while removing the coil spring compressor. Then I installed the shock at the same time as the coil spring with the shock placed inside. Next I installed the adapter piece in the bottom of the shock from the hole in the lower control arm. After jacking up the lower control arm to compress the coil in place, I finally cut away the HD zip ties and bolted the shock into place. Also worth noting that the rubber bushings (or bump cushions) that came with the shock were twice as large as needed. I installed this with another kit that came with proper sized poly bushings, but if you are installing this shock independently, you may want to use a razor knife the cut one of the rubber bushings in half and just use the two halves for the install. These two caveats may very well be specific to my application, but I thought the information may be useful to others in the same scenario.I had to place the Fabtech sticker on the shock myself, and these shocks are a little too short for the very long logo decal provided. I wrapped it in a diagonal fashion to make it fit. It doesn't look exactly like the picture as a result, but didn't really matter to me. You really don't need the decal to get a better ride.Overall I am satisfied with this purchase. I could have made it easier on myself by picking a more compatible bolt-on shock, but I wanted to run the shocks used in the Fabtech kit for this year model truck. (K7014)

The description for the shocks says the dimension is 24"; however, the shock extended is a little less than 21". Stuck with these since the refund window has expired.
