Pieces too big/chunky to use well for mulching, gave my plants mould

I want to rave about this super clean straw but... it's a tiny amount really. I read that it covers 75sq ft and thought perfect. Reality is that that is a streach, it would be to thin for any actual coverage at that. If I'd recieved twice this for the price I could almost justify it. Living in the city is b!#$# and there are no feed shops in seattle.

When the box arrived, I just assumed because it was so small the straw would have been compacted, but no, it wasn't. I think it was a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a box of straw. 75sq. Feet? Maybe if it was one straw deep!

My chickens and ducks have been laying eggs in The dirt, and all over their coop. Haven’t been using their nesting boxes all season.I regularly use wood shavings, and decided to try this straw. This is the the result of every day this week since I’ve put straw in Their nesting boxes!I have no idea why they prefer it, but now, so do I!And this straw seems to be much less smelly compared to the shavings.I will be purchasing in bulk!I used not even half the box to fill their 6 nesting boxes.I had used another seller previously and hated the quality. Practically moldy and brown.Green strip is where it is at and changed my perspective on small business sellers. Thank you!Happy chickens, happy life.

The pieces are too long to use in a average size backyard vegetable garden. I had to cut the pieces down to a manageble size. Very disappointing. It would be ok for a large area.

I bought better straw on Amazon. This is quite broad and is fine if you’re sprinkling over a large area, maybe, but not over raised beds.
