I have been using this to stream my Steam Deck video and audio into Discord on a Linux machine in order to play games such as Jackbox, etc. It's an extremely handy device if you want to capture video from a phone or device that has USB-C video into a computer (on the capturing device it appears much like a webcam would) and it also charges the device you are streaming video from (USB PD). On Linux (Pop OS / Ubuntu) it's just plug and play and I suspect that it is that way on most systems. You will need to provide a USB charger and, in most cases, it'll likely need to be a powerful one.

This USB Video capture device works great when it works. I've got a Motorolla G 5G and it does not work with this cable, An Older LG Stylo also does not work. But it works just fine with Samsung phones. It did not work with my antique Nexus 7 tablet. This is not necessarily the fault of the cable, so I'm not taking away any stars for this. I am taking away one star because the directions are terrible. They are too small and blurry to read. They don't mention that you need some kind of extra software to make this work, like OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). They give you screenshots in the directions, but again, it's too small to see. On Windows 11 in OBS this capture device shows up as "USB3" I had to add a Video source and an Audio source to my OBS Scene to make it work. Additionally, while I can preview the video, I cannot preview the audio in OBS, but the sounds are there when I playback a recording or stream, so I just need to find the right setting. There is little to no delay, and it looks like 1080P quality to me. The Video and Audio are very nice quality. I do recommend this if you have a compatible device.

Es gibt immer mal wieder Artikel auf Amazon die einen unerwartet durch hochgradige Funktionalität überraschen. Das sind die besten Produkttests, die man als Produkttester so haben kann. So auch bei dem hier getesteten Artikel von "Guermok", eine mir bisher nicht bekannte Marke. Der einfach "Video Capture Card" genannte USB 3 Audio und Video-Grabber kann über einen USB Typ C Kabeleingang, Audio- und Videosignale abgreifen und nahezu verlustlos über einen kombinierten USB Typ A/C-Kabelstecker an ein Zielgerät zur Aufnahme übertragen. Zusätzlich kann eine seitlich angebrachte USB Typ C Buchse 100 Watt an Strom, an daran angeschlossene Geräte, liefern. Das natürlich nur, wenn der kombinierten USB Typ A/C-Kabelstecker an einer USB-Buchse angeschlossen ist, die auch so viel Strom liefern kann.Das wäre dann eigentlich schon die ganze Funktionalität des hier getesteten Geräts. Was mich daran so fasziniert ist, dass dieses kleine unscheinbare Gerät genau das in einer hervorragenden Qualität kann, was mein teuer bezahlter Videograbber von Elgato ebenfalls kann. Für nur 30 € bekommt man einen vollwertige Möglichkeit Latenz und störungsfrei Videoaufnahmen von diversen Geräten aufnehmen zu können. Und das auch noch bei 60 FPS. Meine immer noch genutzte Elgato Frame Card kann nur maximal 30 FPS und benutzt auch einen viel älteren Codec zum Aufnehmen und Übertragen.Jetzt hat das Gerät von Elgato den Vorteil, dass zu dem Gerät in der Regel eine Software zum Aufnehmen und Bearbeiten des aufzuzeichnenden Video- und Audiomaterials mitgeliefert wird. Bei der "Video Capture Card" von "Guermok" liegt absolut nichts bei. Tatsächlich sind nur das Gerät und ein dünnes Faltblatt in der unspektakulären Plastiktüte. Treiber sucht man vergebens. Aber das ist der gute Teil. Denn das Gerät braucht gar keinen Treiber. Unter Windows 11 wird es vollkommen schmerzlos nach ein paar Sekunden eingebunden und ist einsatzbereit. Wenn ich da nur an die Installation des Elgato-Gerätes denke...Das bedeutet auch, dieses Aufnahmegerät ist vollkommen zukunftssicher. Die von Microsoft bereitgestellten generischen Treiber verrichten vollkommen zuverlässig ihren Dienst und in jeder Anwendung steht dieses Gerät als "USB3"-Quelle zur Verfügung. OBS-Studio und VLC konnten völlig problemlos darauf zugreifen und aufzeichnen.Ich habe dieses Aufnahmegerät mit sehr unterschiedlicher Hardware getestet und bin nicht einmal auf Probleme gestoßen. Nur bei der Aufnahme meines Samsung S20+ 5G Handys stieß ich auf etwas seltsames Verhalten. Aber das lag an den Einstellungen im Handy, denn anstatt der Benutzeroberfläche des Handys sah ich nur den Desktop von Samsung DEX. Wenn man diese Funktion im Handy ausschaltet, sieht man auch ganz normal die Benutzeroberfläche des Handys.Insgesamt ein wirklich brauchbares Gerät. Zusätzlich gefällt mir die sehr gute Fertigungsqualität und das es sich um ein Metallgehäuse handelt, welches die Wärme gut ableitet. Das Aufnahmegerät ist dabei so klein, dass man es locker mit überall hin mitnehmen kann. Fünf Sterne wohl verdient.

I started using this to stream my Switch on Twitch and the have had no issues at all. I was able to plug it in and capture on both my Mac and Windows computers, and since it's USB-C I was even able to just plug it into my MacBook and do all of it that way, it got hot but that was my computer's fault not the capture card. The quality is great especially if you're just recording and then editing after, and it fits right into my carrying case so we were able to do a stream together at a friends and I only had to bring one thing with my laptop, the switch, and the capture card all in one.

Do you want to record a video that you're streaming online, maybe a movie that you want to have your own copy of? This is how you do it. Any video that's playing on a computer, phone, tablet, etc. with a USB 3 connection, can be recorded with this device. On a Mac I used QuickTime to record the video but you can really use any software capable of recording video. Set the video source in your recording software to USB 3 Video and your audio/mic source to one of the USB 3 Audio options. Next play the video on one device, and record on the other. I got super clear audio and video with my recording, just as good as the original.

I ordered this to help make instructional videos for my workplace.It worked perfectly to record my android mobile phone but users also need to know how to record on a computer using software such as OBS. For this reason, I would say it may not be as easy to use for someone who isn't competent in video recording software.The video quality is actually quite good and for the price, it is good value for money knowing that it can be used on several types of devices.

J'ai fait un test atypique pour changer : avec le Quest 3 pour la fonctionnalité HDMI Link.Premier test: l'image est parfaite mais je suis limité en résolution et à 50hz, et je vois apparaître que l'appareil est reconnu en usb 2! Loin de me décourager, je fais différents essais de connexion et je constate que le problème persiste... puis je lis la documentation d'aide sur le casque VR : "essayez de retourner le connecteur usb-c". Je le fais et magie ça passe en usb3 sans la limite des 50hz... Curieux mais bon à savoir.C'est du tout bon, l'image est parfaite, aucun saut ou artefact, ne semble pas trop chauffer et permet la recharge de l'appareil. Dans le cas de la nintendo switch il permet aussi sans doute de passer le voltage spécifique de son chargeur qui permet de voir l'image comme dans le dock (il me semble que c'est l'explication).Recommandé, fonctionne parfaitement en dépit de la petite surprise de l'usb c.
