About this item

  • Halibut Drift Rig
  • Includes 1/0 Octopus Hook and #6 Treble hook
  • 2 red beads, 2 barrel swivels, one snap swivel
  • 30 inches 25 lb test leader
  • Free sliding drop line designed for maximum movement

Halibut rig is great for short biting halibut. The single hook secures to the nose of your bait fish and the treble hook is inserted into the bait near the tail. The rig is adjustable so you can move the nose hook to accommodate the size of the bait.

Hooks for head and body of bait needs to be further apart or moveable to be able to do so.It has caught Halibut!!!

I should have read the reviews. There is no way the rig could handle a keeper size California Halibut. The line might be rated for 25#, but certainly not the hooks. They migh work fir panfish, but definitely not Halibut. Guess I’ll be going back to tying my own.

It’s impossible for this rig to hold a halibut.. i even do not need to try it.. the swivels are not as in the pict but the worst of all

The knot is to tight on all of them, does not allow hook to slide for desired length of where to place treble hook

Definitely caught a lot of halibuts, but anything that maybe legal size or bigger of 22” in California will break off. Lost 3 due to hook bending out or breaking of the line.

It’s very cheap and it works for what smaller game. The hooks quality isn’t very good, it will bend if you have a big fish on. The hook material is soft. But you get what you paid for.
