Ride Comfort may be important, but restoring a vehicle’s Ride Control; stability, stopping, lane change responsiveness and handling is critical. KYB Excel-G Shocks & Struts are designed for the most important performance purpose: Restoring the vehicle’s original capabilities. KYB is a world leading supplier of shocks and struts to new vehicle manufacturers and the Excel-G is made on the very same KYB OE assembly lines, uses the same OE quality components and is calibrated to restore original, designed performance, not change it. That has earned Excel-G the classification: OEA (Original Equipment for the Aftermarket). The KYB Excel-G is a nitrogen gas-charged, twin-tube design that includes every quality component that our global OEM products include and it is the preferred choice for Asian vehicles.

Installed on 2007 maxima. I read a review that said they are too stiff but I disagree. I was expecting them to be stiffer than they are. That said, they provide exactly the quality type of ride I've always expected and received from KYB!

These are the best replacement shock/strut that any manufacturer makes. For this guy with the 1 star who either got the wrong struts or didn't know how to install them obviously doesn't know anything about KYB.

Phenomenal performance, restores the Maxima's handling to be every bit as good as it was fresh from Nissan. There were no issues with the install. If you're an experienced spring compressor jockey, you can bang out both front struts in an hour and a half or so. The rear shocks were the same quality as the fronts. If you've been driving around on completely blown shocks, you're going to be in for a nasty surprise: The Maxima was supposed to be a "4-Door sports car," right? Not a bouncy Cadillac, floating down the highways. These shocks will transform your car from a sliding, bouncy, undulating mess to a tight, controlled, firm, cornering machine. Not harsh like a slammed ricer Civic, but definitely firm. Our cars are old now, so fresh shocks are going to reveal rattles and some other age-related issues.But... You corner harder, accelerate faster, and stop harder. It's simply incredible, what these shocks do for preventing nose-dive under braking and squat under hard acceleration. It's much harder to spin the tires now, they no longer lift off the ground during acceleration. Conversely, when you slam on the brakes, the car bites in instantly. There's no more concern about the rear wheels lifting up, lowering traction and reducing the stopping distance.I have 8,000 miles on the car since install and have had no problems the other reviewer described of the shocks getting "firmer" over time. In fact, I now despise the floating ride of my wife's Camry, as the skateboard-y Maxima emphasizes the "I feel like I'm on a boat, why does my body keep bobbing up and down? Someone get me off this ride before I get sick!" floating quality of her 80,000 mile-old struts (read: worn-out).

I Bought these for my Maxima 2005 SE and they just got worse day be day in the past 6 months. They were fine at first but as the time past by , They are getting stiffer and stiffer every day. What gives KYB? My Maxima has turned into a go cart...and No this was not a compliment...This is baaaad. I can feel tiny cracks of the road let alone the larger indentations and steps and potholes. My car does not have any sort of jounce and rebound...I bet if I welded solid metals instead of these shocks would ride more comfortable. Not even worthy of 1 star. The car is getting even worse in terms of ride comfort. I will never buy KYB in my whole life again. Zero product quality
