Like other have said the instructions are not very clear but the actual test works and now I have so much piece of mind at the old house I’m renting. No mold!

I used this to check various rooms in my house for mold. I used 1 of the dishes outside like the instructions said, sort of as a control, and the "control" did indeed form many, many more clusters than my house. It provided some valuable insight about the mold situation in my house. Good price for what you get.

The kit comes with 5 common Petri Agar dishes, a few cotton swabs, couple gloves, and a set of stickers. The idea is to place a dish with a lid open in your room for 2 hours, close and place in a warm dark place. You can also use the swabs to rub a mold sample from a wall into the dish. You can then check back in a few days to see what grew in the dish. While dishes grew spores just as they supposed to, the included booklet makes a barely adequate job providing sample pictures of what each kind of a mold is supposed to look like. You most definitely would want to go for a better set of images online or maybe download a phone app that can use the camera to recognize different species automatically.As it is, it makes for a fun science experiment but maybe not so much for a meaningful actionable test.One thing to note is the box and booklet talk about 10 test. That is incorrect. You get 5 dishes total.

My skin is sensitive to mold, and I use these to check certain areas in my home, especially the basement storage where there’s less ventilation. The space above the ceiling pipes tends to hold moisture, and I was unsure if the air was too damp. I placed it in small openings and let it sit to collect samples. It gave me a clear idea of whether mold was present, which helped in deciding whether extra dehumidifying was needed. It’s not a lab-grade test, but for a general check, it does the job. For a quick home assessment, I think it’s been helpful.

I am really pleased with this bacteria tester! It's very easy to use, just follow the steps in the manual and you'll be up and running in no time. The results are very accurate, I used it to test my kitchen countertop and my cell phone screen and the results were almost identical to the data from a professional lab. It's also very portable, small and lightweight, so you can always take it to the office or travel with you. It's definitely a product worth getting for anyone who is conscious of their home hygiene! Highly recommended!

This bacteria tester is very easy to use, even for people with no technical background. The test results are very quick, displaying data in seconds and are highly accurate. I used it to test the refrigerator, bathroom and door handles in my home and found some hygienic spots that I usually overlook. Now I will use it regularly to make sure my home environment is clean and it is really useful! Highly recommended!
