The device was clearly used and returned at least once based on scratches but more importantly it is almost certainly defective because it nearly destroyed my battery twice.The first time I figured it was user error but after having no devices plugged in and a full day of good sun, the battery actually drained and then wouldn’t take a charge initially via the 10amp Noco I had to buyAfter running repair mode, it appears as if battery still might be okay but after going 2 for 2 where using this controller ended in a failure mode, I’m steering clear of this brand although I’m guessing it might be the vendor since I have heard this device works okay for some.

one thing to know is for a controller to handle 100 amps of current is for there a way to attach a #8 wire, which from the size of the holes i doubt would accommodate a wire that size. the existing wire hole indicate to me a 30 amp capability which would not last long with 400 watts of solar power sent thru it. ive had a few controllers and all except for 1, they all ended up over heating and burned up. im giving this a pos rating because i have not hooked it up to use yet so i cant give any other rating in overall fairness. being there is no heat sink on back also to me indicates it wont handle 100 amps, if that much was delivered.

This controller was similar to my old controller in the way you change the voltages on it however the display is much better, and the menu of choices is larger like the total amp hours used which is not on my old controller.

Have 8 awg wire which is good for 40 amps up to 30 ft or something. Had to cut half the strands off to get it into this tiny connector. Connectors too tiny and too close together for 40 amps. Maybe if its 40 amps with 5 ft of wire and you can use a much smaller wire.

I would say it is worth what you pay for it. I have it connected to ma small battery bank for the moment and driving an inverter. I would recommend against using the output terminals to drive the inverter directly. I am using the output to drive a relay that connects the inverter directly to the batteries. This way when the battery gets too low, the controller with turn off the inverter and save the battery. BTW, the instructions are pretty poor.
