Doesn’t work!

This battery operated soldering unit seemed to work. Unfortunately, no instructions were provided with the unit; however, I was able to figure it out. I had difficulty getting the tip screwed into the top of the base. The threads are small and tight. I had to use a small crescent wrench to screw in the tip so its base would are contact with the electrical contact at the top of the base. Without instructions, I finally figured out the correct button sequence to activiate and set the temperatures. The unit did melt the sample solder provided. I did not obtain the temperatures (using a non-contact thermometer) shown in the product specs; however, the solder did melt. I did notice during testing that the top of the base above the push button control started to get very warm. There is no cover for the push button, so the way to ensure full safety of the device when not in use is to unscrew the tip. I will have to use a wrench to do this. The tip must be removed and replaced with a different piece in order to recharge the battery. Two types of pieces are provided, one is corded with a USB-A male plug. The second is a fixed piece that allows standing the unit on a power block with a USB-A charging port.

Not high power, but great for delicate soldering work in the field. Clever, and works well for 8 watts.
Just saying

It’s hard to find just a plain 510 battery but, this one works well. I do have to charge it every day.(it’s only a small battery). For the price it works great..

It’s ok, it doesn’t really keep a charge, lasts maybe an hour with constant usage, battery gets a little funky when trying to screw in

First off, I bought this for my thc battery, so of course i’m not using it for its intended purpose. To turn it on: hold the button until it blinks pink 3x then before it blinks the third time, begin pressing the button three times, then it turned on. I can’t always figure out how to adjust the heat. It sometimes worked when i pressed the button 5 times after it was turned on but that didn’t work every time. The pen does get very hot so this would definitely be great for a soldering iron, but adjusting the heat is a pain in the rear each time (in my opinion).Battery life was also only like an hour
