Perfect little spice grinder. Easy to use, easy to clean and works pretty good. Fully recommend this product.

I had one of these that I used for 3-4 years. The blades were getting dull so I bought a replacement. I used the replacement for about 3 months and then the cord developed a break exposing bare copper wire (see photo). Given my previous experience I thought this was just bad luck so I bought a another one of the same model. About 3 months later it developed a similar break. I contacted Proctor Silex/Hamilton Beach and got an auto reply saying that it could take up to 6 weeks to get a reply. It's been 6 months and still nothing. I bought a Kaffe grinder as a replacement which is actually easier to use because the grinding cup is removeable making it easier to empty the coffee into the coffee basket. I highly recommend the Kaffe grinder! Proctor Silex is an old brand that seems to be asleep at the wheel. I would avoid them.

Works amazingly well for weed. Also used it for hard Syrian Rue seeds, which it pulverized easily. I like it for weed because the crystals, being lighter than the bud, float to the top when grinding, and collect on the ceiling of the dome. By the time you're done, the bud is grinded on the bottom and the crystal is all collected and "stuck" to the top. Not sure if this is by design or not but it's awesome lol. Also, after you grind it, the top "dome" part comes off and can be set down, and it acts like a little dish where you can grab your weed out of. It's almost like they made it for bud... 🤔 who's to say? It would work perfect for coffee beans too of course, seeing how it had no problem with the Syrian Rue.

I bought this as my first coffee grinder to use with my first coffee pot in my first apartment, and it does the job. It grinds the beans as fine as you want, just grind short for coarse or long for fine. Easy. It has a stainless steel bowl so it's easy to wipe clean, and I throw the cap in the dishwasher. The retractable cord is nice but I use this too often to retract it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a coffee grinder on a budget, works as advertised.

Simple coffee grinder! Granted! Does it grind coffee? Check! Easy to use? Check! Easy to clean? Check! Quality product? Don't know, have it for one week, looks like it is. But everything else, couple of small details like power cord that winds by turning the body and the base of the grinder, see through lid that is the size of a grinder so that you can turn it around and your coffee is easily available. Plus the lid has little flat surface so it doesn't roll from you on the surface. Small things make life easier and this coffee grinder definitely is one of them!

This was my second purchase of the same model. This review refers to my experience with the first one I purchased rather than the most recent one. Overall, I'd say that for the price this is a great little coffee grinder. My first one lasted for over two years; during the colder months it got daily use and during hot months (iced-coffee weather) it saw occasional use. It fit neatly on my counter behind the coffee pot for storage. Note: I never retract the cord for storage because I don't think that's good for it; I only wind it loosely around the coffee maker. Being lazy, after grinding and unplugging I like to just turn it upside-down and gently tap before removing the lid so that I can dump the coffee directly from the lid into the coffee maker. For a serious coffee connoisseur who requires a precise grind it may not be ideal but if all you want is to enjoy freshly-ground coffee in your drip coffee maker, it does the job just fine.

If you want to get a grinder to create flour-like dust, don't get this one. If you're just grinding into a coarse consistency, this is fine.Big problem with this grinder. I use this grinder as a disposable one for grind chemicals before transferring to a mill for grinding. To reduce grind time, I grind to flour-like consistency. However, this leaks where the blade spins, so chemicals get into the grinder, the more you grind. If you grind long enough, you can literally pour the powder out where the cord is. The worse was the time I tried to grind aluminum since I only needed a small amount of aluminum dust for a project. The aluminum dust got into the blender and the blender RAN WITHOUT PRESSING THE BUTTON. Must have closed the circuit somewhere inside the unit. Had to pour out all the powder to fix the issue.Do note, this is only for my particular experience. This was not the intended application for this coffee grinder. For what it is, a $10 dollar coffee grinder, its is quite outstanding. It's a slick unit with a retractable cord. If you only need to grind small amounts, this is perfect. I will continue to use this.

I bought this one to add a second one to my repertoire. I have had one for about 8 years - I have used it to quick grind flax seeds, chia seeds, and coffee beans. :-) Works great on all of them - my other one is white and looks like it has been around for 8 years. After time, the plastic cover gets scratched from all the grains and such, but it is still running very smoothly. I am going to use the white one for herbs and seeds now and use the black one just for coffees. Sometimes you just don't want oregano flavored mornign brew. LOL This model is very counter friendly and compact - I love the way the cord rolls up inside. I have never had trouble with it tangling inside or getting stuck. Great for travel, too. Fits nicely inside of your bags. It IS noisy, but I have yet to hear a quiet grinder of any kind. Let's face it - it is grinding, and therefore, by default, noisy. It is not the motor so much that makes it loud, it is just the sound of everything whirling around as it is choipped to pieces.

I did a lot of deliberating and review reading before purchasing this grinder. I wanted something that worked well for occasional grinding but was inexpensive. The result is that I am extremely happy with this grinder. The price was right, and it performs exactly how I need it to. The grinds are consistent and I have not experienced any problems (thus far). Granted, I grind my own coffee perhaps once a week or so, and am the only peson in my household that drinks coffee. My usual everyday coffee is a brand that I get pre-ground, but I regularly purchase some special beans that I treat myself with every now and then. This is what I bought this grinder for. So, for my needs, it works great. For the record, I use a french press. I was particularly happy to find that the cord is completely and easily retractable into the base of the grinder when not in use. I was not expecting that, and it was a pleasant surprise.
