For someone who has been air-drying about half of my laundry for years, this is one of those products I wish I had discovered sooner. Installing it in my laundry room was incredibly easy, and it’s been a great addition to my routine. I use it both for hanging clothes straight out of the washing machine and for placing garments on hangers fresh from the dryer to prevent wrinkles.The clothesline is much longer than I need, but I'd rather have extra length than not enough. The flat design helps prevent tangling, and the rubber-like silicone material ensures it won’t wear out from damp clothes. The perforated slots are designed for hanging clothes hangers directly in the holes, but I’ve been hesitant to use them that way. I worry that a hanger could get caught and accidentally tear the line, so instead, I place hangers over the entire clothesline rather than through the holes. This method has worked well so far.The retraction function operates smoothly, even after months of use. It hasn’t jammed or gotten stuck, and the line remains taut under a full load as long as the lock is engaged. One of my favorite ways to use it is by threading the line through sleeves or pant legs before securing the end to the opposite wall—no hangers, clips, or pins needed, and nothing slips off. A dehumidifier placed underneath can speed up the drying process.I also appreciate that the reel is mounted on a swivel, so it doesn’t have to be installed on perfectly parallel walls. However, I would love to see a wider range of motion that allows it to fold flat against the wall when not in use. That would make it more discreet and prevent it from sticking out as much.Value: The current price is $24.99 USD for a 165-inch retractable clothesline. After comparing similar models, I found this to be a reasonable price on Amazon, though there are more competitive options available elsewhere. 4.5 stars

This indoor clothing long is easy to hang up anywhere in your home and is very functional. I like that it is retractable and can be unfastened when you’re not using it. This is great when you want to hang dry certain pieces of clothing and it also can save energy. It is very practical and easy to use.

I love this clothesline! I put very few items in the dryer (e.g., sheets, towels, socks, underwear) and hang the rest on hangers. Once they're dry, I usually can just put them away just the way they are. The problem is finding a place to hang them. With a traditional clothesline, the hangers slide together and impede the drying process. I sometimes use door frames, but that's unsightly to say the least. Now I have the perfect clothesline that's meant for hangers! I'm now hanging my clothes in the basement, which is much more convenient. And when the clothes are dry, the line retracts into its casing so it's safe and out of sight. It was pretty to install and does a good job of holding lots of wet clothes. I just wish I had something like this a long time ago!

This unit is small but strong. It was very easy to install with the included hardware. I like that the tape is flat with holes in it to hang hangers through. It also has enough tension to lay lingerie over it without sagging.

I was looking for an item like this that would provide a stronger line to hold up heavier weight items without causing a large sag. This was just what I was looking for. I loved that the line itself was more of a tape than a clothes line making it wider. These tape has precut slits that keep your items nicely separated for drying. The room I used it for is 12 foot wide and it was easy to install using the directions and tucks nicely away when not is use.

This is a serious clothesline. The main portion is similar to a very heavy duty tape measure in feel and how it works. When pulling out the line make sure you have a hold of it because if you let go it will retract back. The line has holes in it to hang clothes from hangers. I really like this because it makes sure that clothes don't end up bunched together slowing drying time. It does take some time to get it hung properly if you follow the directions, needing 72 hours for the glue to hold. Once up it stays. It comes with pretty detailed instructions on installation too. So far so good, my clothes are getting dried and the line has stayed in place. Just note that this is probably not best if you are looking for a very temporary solution or something you can take down completely after each use. The line will retract so as to not block anything but the base will stayed fixed to a wall.
