I used to go to a gym regularly, but that was many years ago when I was single and younger. In recent decades I would join a gym and then barely manage to make it out there before work or on busy weekends. Since I set up a small home gym I've been working out a lot more, but I have two problems: I don't have the range of equipment to work every muscle group, and more importantly (for me) I don't have enough different exercises to keep from getting bored by doing the same things all the time. Keeping it fresh is important to keeping me motivated. This bend bar doesn't have a lot of uses - it's impossible for me to bend it behind my neck like the picture shows, and the "biceps training" shown in the listing isn't as good as my existing dumbbell curls. However, the chest and thigh exercises are new and expand my circuit, and the resistance is strong enough (and can be increased by shortening the bands) so that I won't outgrow it any time soon. So, to me, it doesn't seem like an essential piece of workout equipment BUT if you have a limited home gym and want to add some variety in a compact package, this device is a nice addition. The assembly was extremely simple and fast, and the build quality seems very good. The device is robust and strong, and looks like it will last.

I was a bit confused as to what's the best technique for use, but I've settled in to a few uses now. It is not going to be easy to hit your biceps, so don't bother trying to find a way to exercise those.Unlike resistance bands, this device is compact and easy to use and then put down. It's nice to leave it alongside your desk for a few quick sets here-and-there.Cons: it has been getting slightly creaky over time, and I wish there was more spring resistance now that I've used it for a couple of weeks.
