I have had good success with previous Shardor products so I wanted to give this new model a try. I have one of their older grinder models that has a removable cup, which operated the motor while pushing down on the outer lid. It still works fine for grinding multiple dehydrated items like eggs, milk, cheese, etc. when I need to wash the cup thorgoughly under hot running water.I actually own several brands of coffee grinders which are kept separate for different products ... i.e. coffee only, oily spices only (cloves, cardamom, cinnamon), eggshells only, etc. Each time I replace an older grinder with a new one, the older versions are converted to single types of food use (or out in my greenhouse), especially the models without a removable cup for cleaning.I like the size of this model, but the content cup is basically the same size as my older Shardor with a smaller base. I somehow expected this one would have a larger cup in keeping with the larger base housing. On the bright side, my old model had a rounded silicone ring that had to be removed for washing, and it was "always" problematic trying to get it back into the lid crevice. One day it fell into the sink disposal and got ruined, so I've been using a piece of corded sewing elastic instead to keep debris from exiting the cup while grinding. This new model doesn't use a separate seal like the former, which is a definite improvement!Intuitively, I feel like the manual warnings of such long rest periods in between grinding is more of a disclaimer or reduced liability if something goes wrong with the motor. I have NEVER owned a grinder that requires such a long resting period, but I don't run them for long periods of time to begin with. I have always used short bursts of power until I have the product ground to my liking. I will be using this new grinder the same way I do ALL of my others, and if this causes the motor to burn out, then it would not be worth another purchase for me.Any good grinder can be used with common sense, and short spurts of energy work just as well as longer durations of 30 seconds. This has always been the case for me, and I have neither the time nor the inclination to use this only brief periods each time. The price value is comparative to other grinders I have (and I still have all of my old ones running for various purposes ... at least 5 or 6 of them now). Hopefully, this new Shardor will perform well on "my" terms of grinding experiences.

This product can grind coffee beans, date seeds for tea, any dry spices (and buds). This version is a HUGE improvement. It has a touch switch on the side of the grinder base, the cord is permanently affixed to the grinder motor base, attractive, 4 fixed blades, very quick, average noise level, generous container, has an airtight container lid and a twist and lock outer lid while grinding means no fine dust messes. Removable container makes cleaning a breeze. They still haven't completely resolved motor overheating with heavysingle use batches. Easy workaround is just grind even full loads in multiple short bursts. SUPER VERSATILE GREAT ECONOMICAL PRICE! Highly recommend.NOTE: PREVIOUS version had a nonremovable container, only one shoddy lid, only 2 blades, kept coming unplugged from the grinder, had only a press and hold grinder, had problems with motor overheating.

It works very well for a small grinder. It has saved me space in the kitchen as well. Affordable pricing was the best part.

I have gone through probably 6 different brand spice grinders and this is probably my second favorite. The big plus that isn't found on many is the inner lid! I don't know what sort of heathens use these other spice grinders but most will get fine grinds all over the inside which is kind of a pointless. This, like my favorite, has an inner lid that does a great job of keeping things in the inside cup.First dislike of the product is the long activation process. Add spices to inner container, put lid on, put inner container into base and twist, place outer lid over inner container and twist that, then hit the off/on button. If you need to do several fast this is probably not the device for you.Second, bigger issue, is the required cooldown times. 30 seconds on, 60 seconds off. Use for 90 seconds total and it needs a 30 minute! cooldown. There is no chance of doing a good bit of grinding without big delays. I have burned the motors out on several grinders although that is generally from using the wrong blade or something getting stuck but I still would heed manufacturer advice. It also only comes with one cup and blade style, this is fine but a bit limited. It is nice this is dishwasher safe and has a fairly large container. I think this will likely stay my second choice and I am not sure if I would push it hard with things like cinnamon where your runtime for that alone could exceed 30 seconds. The warranty is very nice at two years but won't really know how well that holds up until (if) it is needed.I prefer the Secura brand it costs 25% more but has several benefits including dual cups (one with a more aggressive blade one for harder materials) and while you twist the inner cup in the outer cover you just push down (no twist required) and pushing down is also what activates the unit. Aside from the nice dual blade option it also means you have a second cup for when the first is dirty.
