When I got these, they had burrs and wire edges on both the chisels and the drill bits. I tested the 12.7 mm one. I used a diamond cone and flat plate to clean the chisel and I used a small diamond file to clean up the drill bit. After I worked on them, the chisel was very sharp and the drill was moderately sharp. It worked fine on maple and didn't burn. I'm not clear how long they will stay sharp.For the price, I think they are pretty good for a home workshop. Just be aware that they need some edge work before they will work well.

I was excited about getting these mortising bits to try out. However, I was not aware that they don't work in a standard drill press. You need a tool that is very similar to a drill press, but has a fixed chisel holder as well as the chuck for the bit. While that bit of ignorance is totally on me, it would behoove the seller to make that clear in the listing. It would also help if they listed both the metric and the standard sizes on the parts. They are marketed in the subject-line of the listing as 1/2", 5/8", etc, but they arrived with only the mm sizes labeled. I used a sharpie to mark the corresponding fraction of an inch. The bits appear to be a good quality and feel very sharp. they spin smoothly in the chisel.
