First of all, I'm not an expert carver. I've wanted to learn a little and do some basic work, and this does that very well, and likely much more. They're worth the price. What's more, they're very sharp and durable. You see, I have a metal-"carving" bit that looks very similar to one of these. I accidentally left the wood carving bit on my rotary tool and did some work on an aluminum piece. I only realized the mistake once I was halfway done. The bit is still very sharp and handles wood well. So, that's impressive. They come in a case with extra slots for consolidating other bits. I'll definitely keep using these, and to recommend them.

I am new to wood carving with a dremel type tool and was looking for a decent set of bits to experiment with. I cannot really speak to the quality compared to other bits as I do not have that experience to draw from. The bits are sharp, and they seem like they are good quality. They fit in my rotary tool well. They do carve into wood, but as I have not figured out the ins and outs of the craft yet, I did not provide pictures of my messy first attempts. Five different wood carving bits give me plenty of variety to experiment with, and I look forward to working with these. They come in a nice plastic case for storage and organization.

these are really really nice and they’ve done a great job of routing through the wood that I’ve used on my products. It comes in its own small case and it has several other slots so we can hold more than just what comes with the package. I’m very happy with it. Any tool that comes with its own carrying case is A-OK in my book

I use a rotary tool (like a Dremel) for a lot of small craft and detail work, and I wanted to try some bits specifically designed for wood carving and shaping. This 5-piece LuMuank set of rotary tool bits looked like a good way to get a variety of shapes with a standard 1/8" shank. This set gives you five different shapes of bits, each with a specific profile for different carving, grinding, and engraving tasks on wood. You get things like a ball shape, a pointed shape, a cylindrical shape, etc. They are designed to quickly remove wood and shape it.They fit perfectly into my Dremel tool's collet thanks to the standard 1/8" (3mm) shank. They cut into wood efficiently, allowing you to carve details, hollow out areas, or smooth shapes. They are great for micro-sculpture and adding texture or detail to wooden crafts. They also work on some softer plastics. Like any rotary tool bit, using appropriate speed and pressure is key to getting good results and preventing the bits from getting too hot or clogging. If you use a rotary tool and want to expand its capabilities for working on wood, this set of carving bits is a versatile and useful addition to your accessories. They are great for adding fine details to your projects.

These cutters have odd shapes, but that's a good thing. They carve differently than the standard ones and with their length can reach into tight spaces. I tested them on a piece of red American oak flooring. It has a tendency to burn if the cutting edges are not extremely sharp, so I figured that if they didn't burn this they'd be great for the woods I'll be using them for. That said, you'll see some burn marks, but only in the plunge cuts that they aren't really made to do, and I was bearing down to see what it took to make them burn the wood. It turned out that you have to really cram them in and let the chips build up before they burn, and eve then it's not bad. This is probably not an industry-standard test...Anyhow, when used properly they cuts cleanly and clear the chips well. In the last photo I tried to induce chatter with the largest of the cutters, but it didn't. I got the onion-shaped one to chatter a bit by not holding my Dremel firmly. What does all of this silliness mean?To me it means that when used correctly they'll cut easily and predictably, and if..no, when.. I have a lapse in concentration I can be fairly sure that I won't wreck my workpiece. The main use will be guitar repair, so efficient and predictable tooling is important. The Viking helmet one will be perfect for delicately cutting around screws that break off at the surface.Edit: I had an actual need for one of these bits today. I know that they're made for woodworking, but high-quality wood cutters can be used for soft metal, too. I needed to make adjustments to some cast-zinc guitar parts, and the pinecone-shaped one worked so well that it seemed to be made for the job, but I suppose that's the idea for the non-standard shapes.

I have owned and used Dremel tools of all sorts for decades (as in I am old). These kind of bits are part of the array of accessories for carving. I own many of them. Though many of them do last a long time, they will eventually wear down and lose their edge (not unlike myself). I always keep my eye open for a new set and sometimes a variation on a cutting bit that I have not seen before. These bits are not anything special as far as I can tell. But they are a nice collection of carving bits for those of us who like to shape wood into objects with detail and possibly even some artistry. I only ever do small things along this line but these are the type of bits I use. These seem reasonably well made and the ones I’ve tried have a good edge on them and cut cleanly. They are made of High Strength Steel and should endure for quite some time. The price is very reasonable, especially compared to some. Unless they wear out quickly or break soon, I believe them to be a good buy.I recommend them.

I like the variety of shapes that will work with many different applications, I also like that they fit my D rotary tool without any issues at all as they chuck in just like any other bit. They are high speed steel though, and that means that they will get dull much faster and easier than a carbide bit.
