TRENDnet’s high-performance AX1800 Dual Band WiFi 6 PoE+ Access Point, model TEW-921DAP, features two concurrent WiFi bands to maximize device networking speeds with the latest WiFi 6 technology. The two separate high-speed WiFi 6 bands provide speeds up to 1201Mbps on the 5GHz band, and 567Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. Faster speeds are possible on this WiFi 6 access point with 1024-QAM, OFDMA, and MU-MIMO technologies. This WiFi 6 access point supports innovative networking technology that improves coverage, speed, and capacity. The increase of QAM to 1024-QAM allows data to flow through a much wider ‘pipe’ than previous WiFi technologies. With OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access), the number of clients that can be connected to this WiFi 6 access point increases. OFDMA efficiently manages traffic in congested areas by separating channel frequencies into different subcarriers. MU-MIMO technology processes multiple data streams simultaneously, increasing real-time WiFi performance on the WiFi 6 AP when multiple devices access the network. The TEW-921DAP WiFi 6 access point features advanced access control, QoS, traffic management, band steering, and captive portal support. The low-profile housing design seamlessly blends into most environments, with a convenient wall / ceiling mounting plate included. For application flexibility, the TEW-921DAP supports Access Point (AP), Client Bridge, Wireless Distribution System Access Point (WDS AP), WDS Bridge, WDS Station, and Repeater modes. Easily manage and configure TRENDnet’s AX1800 Dual Band WiFi 6 PoE+ Access Point remotely by updating the access point to the latest firmware for access to TRENDnet Hive. TRENDnet Hive is a remote network cloud manager that reduces management time and cost. No additional hardware, server, or personal cloud is required on this WiFI 6 access point with TRENDnet’s reliable cloud service.

I have this paired up with another TRENDnet POE managed switch. It works perfectly with my FortiGate 60F. I enjoy having the networks VLAN tagged so traffic can be easily managed at the switch and the gate. Very simple interface and the physical appearance gets the seal of approval from the wife.

I recently deployed a new TEW-826DAP and updated the firmware. Periodically, and especially with Apple devices, clients get dropped and, sometimes, cannot reconnect without rebooting the access point. Many times, I have had to turn off and on the wifi on an affected client. But sometimes even that doesn't work, so I have to dismount the AP, unplug and replug it, disconnecting everyone else in the house. This is random. I may go one day just fine and another day it happens very frequently. I am moving on to another brand and model.

I was hoping to replace the old one with the same but it’s been very difficult to figure out how to use and change the name and password to match the rest of the house

I wouldn't recommend this vendor. Many of the products are using dated standards. It works but I experienced serious issued with iPhone devices.

Excellent little hidden gem, and VERY well supported. Like most Trendnet stuff, this one is well worth your $$. Make sure you've got a good poe+ circuit/switch, don't get cheap. We're using 3 now on a 6k sqft house on 3 floors, and they replaced 9 ap's. Touche, Trendnet!

This review applies to two TRENDnet products with the same issue, the AC2200 TEW-826 and the N300 TEW-755AP. They both have the same firmware bug. They randomly drop clients, even in the middle of streaming, and refuse to let the clients reconnect. If you reboot the Access Point, then it lets the clients reconnect immediately (until the next time it happens). Clueless TRENDnet tech support was unable to resolve the issue and told me to return the products, which I did. I say "clueless" because they completely ignored the diagnostic logs generated by the products and just ran me through the standard script, making no effort to actually diagnose the problem. These products work fine otherwise, but this issue makes them unreliable. I have an older TRENDnet product which does not exhibit this issue. I finally bought a Netgear product to replace these duds. I gave them 2 stars because if TRENDnet ever gets their act together and fixes the firmware bug, then these would be good products, just like the older TRENDnet product that I've had for years. Until then, look for something else more reliable.

I was surprised by how well the TEW-825DAP covered the area compared to the Trendnet 753DAP version. Good features to easily configure two units to work together in a mesh environment.

I'm using this device as an access point for the other side of my house. It has 2 Ethernet ports, one I use to connect to the network and the second I use it connect to a switch so some other devices can be hardwired.
