I returned this item without having tried it because of the light construction and the belief that this tool would never work reliably or at all. The insertion tool tip is blunt and would never penetrate a hole in anything tougher than a balloon. It looks too fragile to force and would surely bend, and any hole big and sloppy enough to accept this tool would also be too large to be plugged by the included plugs. There is no reamer to enlarge, clean or rough up a hole prior to inserting a plug.I did have two leaks in a scooter tire apparently caused by a small staple and this repair tool was just not up to the task. I ultimately made the repair(s) using a plug kit I already had purchased at our local auto parts store but it was comically overkill for such small holes. I have been using tire plugs for decades and swear by them, ...but not this one.

Probably one of my Best Buy’s for tire plugs. Very easy to use. Also having the different sizes in plugs is a plus

i think this is a high quality product, it has an excellent round rasp built into the pokie tool 🤣 comes w/2 sizes of bacon strips (std & mini ); BUT THE STRIPS ARE TOO LONG TO FIT IN THE STORAGE CUP, i had to cut ~1/4" off the lengths. that's why i couldn't give this company 5 stars

I went tubeless at the start of the year and bought this kit at the same time. Lots of strips and I can store 2 sets in the handle. After about 1200 miles riding I noticed I had a slow puncture (benefits of tubeless).I tried a fix using the thin strips and rode a few rides, but the hole wasn't completely fixed. I repeated the fix with a peaties tool and the red strips that come with it, but overnoght this had not sealed and the tyre was flat. I then tried the thicker peatys strips and these would not go in. Finally I reverted back to this tool and used the thick strips that come with it. The hole sealed and does not appear to be leaking following a 30 mile ride.I found it easy to push the tooltip into the puncture hole and it grips the strips well.I would prefer a bright colour on the casing so the tool is easy to spot if dropped, particularly thinking dark and rain roadside repair here.I used some additional contact adhesive and a pair of scissors to trim the strips once inserted. So I am happy with this overall, seems a bit pricey for what you get but the tyre is 40 quid...

Small and durable. This has everything you need for a puncture, and they give PLENTY of extras. BriskMore has good stuff without the crazy name brand prices.

Very small and compact. I was able to fit a razor blade inside for when I need to cut the remaining bacon strip after repair. Comes with more strips then you’ll ever use.

Not used as yet and hope not to but if needed looks good enough quality to do the job.

I have really mixed views about this MTB tubeless tyre repair kit.The good points:- it all comes in a plastic box;- there are a good total number of tyre plugs;- there is a good selection of tyre plug sizes;- the tool screws together to fit nicely in the palm of your hand;- the tool is made from machined aluminium;- the tool serves two purposes, firstly as a hole reamer and secondly as an insertion tool for the repair plug.…and the not so good:- the rubber plugs are too long to fit into the handle of the tool so consequently the lid will not fit with any plugs inside the canister. This means that you have to take the tool and the plastic box out on the trail defeating the object of travelling light.- unlike other kits that I have used costing a fraction of the price of this one, there is no crayon to mark your repair point, no galvanising rubber glue to apply to the plug when you drive it into the hole (some will say you don’t need this and the tyre sealant will be sufficient, but believe me the rubber solution makes for a much better repair and helps with re-inflation of the tyre before the tube sealant has a chance to bind to the inner part of the plug) and there is no miniature knife to cut off the excess rubber that protrudes from the tyre once the plug is inserted… (again this makes a much better job out on the trail). All the parts that are missing that would make this a great piece of kit might not bother you if you’re not used to having them. My current kit has all of these extras and it all fits into a small traditional puncture repair kit box. For these reasons, along with a comparatively much higher price tag, I can only rate this particular kit as average.

I've only recently bought my first cycle with tubeless tyres, so have had to acquire the tools to maintain and repair them. Since there are no tubes to fix, out goes the spare tube and patch repair kit, and in comes the tyre repair kit.Tubeless tyres contain sealant, and since these tyres are usually run at quite low pressure the this will seal the majority of minor punctures. However, if a large nail, screw or other object penetrates right through the tyre and then comes out, the hole with usually be too large to be sealed. In this case a tyre repair kit is really the only practical solution. Whilst the temporary use of an inner tube may also get you home, getting the tyre to reseat on the rim is notoriously difficult so this is a last resort option. This is a simple set. Two sizes of rubber strips are included which can be inserted inside the cannister with the tool. The tool is dual use, firstly it has filed edges to round any puncture hole, then is used to push an appropriately sized rubber strip into the hole. The idea is that provided it's a tight fit, there will be a plug of rubber on the inside of the tyre and the sealant will do the rest. Any excess rubber can be left sticking out of the tyre to wear down when riding, or cut off if preferred. The storage tube can be used to attach to the tool to provide a bit of extra grip and leverage. This is a very simple and elegant solution, stick just one pack of rubber strips of each size and close it up, and you have a tiny repair kit that takes up little space and adds almost no weight.A well spent £17, but look out for Amazon limited time deals though, where this can be found for a few pounds less.
