When I saw this, I thought it was the size of my old Salad Shooter, which I desperately miss. That unit was about the size of a can opener, whereas this one is probably double that. The pictures reveal that, I just mistook it for an enlargement to show detail. Functionally, it's the same as my old unit, and even though it's bigger, I still prefer the way this style of processor works (it's similar to the hand crank units, but without the sweat equity required to operate). I do have a Kitchenaid attachment that's similar, but honestly, it's more trouble than it's worth as it's a bit unwieldy to have the mixer AND a bowl on the same counter...and unless you have a really tall bowl, you're going to have spillage due to the raised elevation of the grater to the attachment connector.As for this unit, size aside it is a breeze to operate. I do like the innovation of the interchangeable blade that connects to the "hub", which saves space vs. the Kitchenaid and Salad Shooter, which both use full wheels for each blade attachment. So far I've only done shredded cheese, and cubed celery for tuna salad (the cubes are a little large, but I pop them back in and it makes them smaller on the second pass without turning them to mush - just use the little brush that's included to poke out any stragglers that stay behind in the grid).One note on safety...the "Dead Man's Switch" is based on the outer push component, which might be overlooked if you're changing blades and accidentally knock the power switch on. The best option is to always make sure it's unplugged if you're removing the blades, even if it's to unclog them in the middle of a job.

I own a really nice and powerful Breville food processor. It is great for many things, especially if I am doing large amounts of prep. However, most of the time I don't need all that power or volume, and I don't want to spend the time cleaning it all up.This little unit works great for small jobs and everyday use. It is powerful enough for everything I have thrown at it, hard and semi-hard cheese, potatoes, carrots, cucumbers, etc. It handled all of them flawlessly. The 5 different slicing and grating blades provide plenty of utility for just about every need. The dicing attachment is amazing, and works surprisingly well. It choked a little bit on softer cheeses, especially mozzarella, but then again so does my big Breville, so I can't really fault it. Putting the cheese in the freezer for a bit before running it through helped out a lot.Overall, I am really happy with this unit and have been using it almost daily since I received it. It has held up well so far.

I am a senior citizen and was trying to find a way to easily cut my vegetables quickly. I was looking for something will also cut vegetables in small squares particularly for Indian Cooking. It took a few times to get it right. However cleaning is a bit tedious to get out all the stuck particles, but worth it as it reduces the prep work.

This food shredder has saved me so much time and effort in my kitchen. It was super easy to get started using it, and the directions were very clear to follow. I washed it off by hand before setting it up and I recommend everyone do this. I started testing the product with cucumbers and carrots, and it effortlessly produced consistent sized shreddings according to the settings that I had on. In terms of aesthetics of my food, this product does things I could not do without it. It is a also great for shredding cheese for things like pizza or lasagna. I highly recommend this product and I am very happy with how well it has been working for me.

Needed a compact shredder to use as I can;'t always pull out my huge KitchenAid unit and then add on the attachment. This provides me with what I need. The ability to quickly chop and shred quickly. I love how easy it is to clean up too. Either throw it in the dishwasher or soak it and hand wash it, but honestly it did amazing in my dishwasher.
