Arrived DOA. Unit would show up in the device manager and devices. However, it would not transmit or receive. Amazon did issue a refund.

I bought it to connect my Sony TV with multiple Bluetooth headphone devices. SONY could not recognize it, while easily recognizing other Bluetooth 5 devices.

I have a desktop so it's missing some of the connection abilities that a laptop or phone may have. Not anymore. This did work great and has good signal strength from what I can tell. I haven't had any issues with it since plugging it in.My bigger complaint was the packaging. It had so much plastic to protect such a small piece of tech.

Installed well and connected to my headset, but it actually had worse range than the built-in Bluetooth of my Dell 7680 mobile workstation. So don't get this if you want extended range because it just doesn't have it.

I have been using a BT 5.0 adapter with my desktop from Windows 7 Pro to now Windows 10 Pro. Just for fun, I upgraded to this (inexpensive) BT 5.4 adapter. As expected, it does everything accordingly and connects to my devices such as keyboard, mouse, headset, tablet for file transfer, etc.

Update: Adapter continues to work great as I now use it now for travelling with my Lenovo laptop and as a much more reliable to connection to my airpods and also for transferring photos and pdf files off my phone wirelessly. The distance of this adapter is still better than my native built in Bluetooth so this was quite the upgrade. I have to note, that the seller reached out to me not realizing I was having issues with the long range adapter with antenna and managed to find my order and a previous conversation to resolve it. We talked about this for awhile and I came to the conclusion that it was a total misunderstanding. Not only is there warranty, Onterate goes out of their way to make sure you are satisfied! I call this benchmark breaking customer service. Many strive for it, but few achieve it. So credit when credit is due, you can sleep at night when you buy this adapter!PreviousUsing this to pair my airpods 3 to my windows 10 pc and no issues at all. So far working good. One of my previous bluetooth adapters from ONTERATE failed after about 10 months of usage and the seller said amazon doesn't allow sellers to exchange so hopefully the device works well as there is no warranty. But for the price it's definitely works and feels like a small risk to take. I highly recommend this adapter otherwise!

I’d hoped to update the BT version an old Mac laptop was using, but discovered, sadly. the dongle wasn’t recognized by the system.Next, I tried it on a Win 10 PC. I followed the included instructions, first disabling the existing BT in the device manager and only after that, plugged in the dongle. It just worked. I had no trouble pairing to a BT DAC, switching the system’s audio output to BT, and streaming music.Window’s device manager reports it as being based on a Realtek chip, so I went searching to see if I could find more info on which one. A couple minutes of searching didn’t turn up any technical documentation, but I did discover multiple reports asserting that not only is it lacking support for Macs, but it also lacks support for Linux.None the less, I decided to give it a try in an Ubuntu Linux system: not surprisingly, it did not recognize the dongle.As the product page only mentions support for Windows—where it worked perfectly for me—I cannot fault the maker for its lack of Mac and Linux support. It sure would be nice if Realtek released drivers for those systems though.Disclosure: I received this product for “free”—in quotes because the IRS requires I pay federal income tax on the retail value. This review is honest and uncensored by the seller.]
