Measured 0 difference in latency. This did however crash the USB controllers on both computers at least twice when switching between them. Build feels solid and for the most part it has worked with minimal issues.

edit: I have to edit my review and dock a star. unfortunately my keyboard is playing up ever since using this switch. I share the keyboard between a linux and a windows pc, and whenever I'm in windows, my keyboard sometimes stops responding and I need to unplug and plug it back in. It is a daily occurence too. I never have any issues in linux though. I'm using wired usb keyboard. Not sure if this is just my unit, or if it is software related, and it's not the end of the world, the switch is within arm's reach anyway, but it can be mildly annoying. This usb switch can come in handy if you're trying to share usb devices (like keyboard, mouse, printer etc) between two computers. My set up has one monitor, connected to two pc, one for work, one for personal use. With this splitter I can share the keyboard and mouse between the two computers with just a push of a button which is so much easier than trying to plug these devices in every time. The switch is pretty robust, has a metal housing and seems well put together. There are 2x usb3 ports on its front and 2x usb3 ports on its back. And a button and two leds on the top. It also comes with 2x usb a to a cable, these are needed to connect the switch to two computers. The lenght of the cable is decent, but I guess some might find it short. I have one computer on each side of the monitor, about the same distance, so for me it's not a problem. Once the computers are connected, the usb devices can be plugged in and selected as needed. The switch was smart enough to switch the keyboard and mouse to the computer that was turned on after the first computer. This is clever as if I'm using a computer and have to turn on another, clearly I intend to use it for something, so not having to find the switch to do this manually is really nice, I wish my monitor could do the same trick...I think for £20 this not only works out cheaper than a second set of keyboard and mouse but it keeps the desk tidy too. So far I haven't experienced any issues with it, so unless I update this review, you can assume everything still works as should.

This is a review of the AUKOKIOULA brand USB 3.0 Switcher 2 in 2 Out. Which was priced at £19.99 at the time of posting this review. This 2 way USB switch is supplied with 2 USB-A to USB-A cables and an instruction leaflet. The device case is metal.I am using this to share my keyboard and mouse dongle with my desktop and laptop computers. Setting up is easy, use the supplied cables to link the switch to a USB-A port on both computers and plug the keyboard cable and mouse dongle in.There is a simple push switch on the top of the device with a light either side of to show whether it’s connected to PC1 or PC2.The switch works very well, just a simple press of the switch and my devices are swapped from one computer to the other.

I was searching for a KVM that had to meet a criteria of being high quality and it had to support USB 3.0 for my purposes that I'll mention later. My search brought me to this one and I'm really liking it so far.I'm using this to switch between two computers ad hoc that are connected to a fingerprint scanner for security purposes along with a USB 3.0 SD card reader for flashing OS images and booting them on the second PC. There are no issues and everything is working as it should. That's why USB 3.0 support was not optional and CrystalDiskMark8 can verify that everything is good to go. I've provided a screenshot showing the reader is operating at max speed with no disconnects, so it's basically identical to a direct motherboard port. This allows me to easily flash the SD card with my first computer and then switch over to the second one to install various operating systems that I test. Before getting this I was manually changing ports and I don't want to add unnecessary wear and tear anymore. If anything changes then I'll provide updates, but for now I'm thrilled with my choice as it continues to operate like I wanted it to while increasing my overall productivity.

I have multiple computers and laptops. I use this at my main computer so when I have to do work on one of the others I can plug the keyboard and mouse into the other computer to do work and switch back to my main computer without having to bring out another keyboard or mouse out onto my desk. This makes it easier for me, less clutter on my desk. I recommend anyone needing to do something similar to get this. You could share a keyboard with a PC and a game console. Or if running multiple PCs for streaming.

I use this when I'm setting up SBCs and it's so much nicer than dragging out an extra mouse and keyboard for a few minutes. In the rare instance where I actually have to connect one to a monitor to work on it rather than doing everything through SSH I love just using my nice keyboard and mouse to work on one and then just press a button to switch to my main PC.This is an extremely simple device but it works well. I would imagine that it acts essentially as a USB hub and the button just switches which USB connection the hub is connected to. Very basic but so extremely useful that I can't believe I was using such barbaric methods previously. The one downside that I can foresee for other users is that the USB-A cords that come with the device are relatively short which means that the computers need to be right next to each other in order to connect them. This isn't an issue for me as the secondary devices I'm setting up just sit on top of my tower. Just keep in mind that if you want the computers to be more than about 2ft apart you will need a longer USB-A to USB-A cord.

This product does exactly what it's meant to do. Share one or two USB devices between two computers with only one computer receiving input at a time.I'm using this to have an external keyboard and mouse for my 2010 MacBook Pro, while sharing that same pair of peripherals with a 2015 iMac. These are both slow computers by modern standards, so being able to do something on one, then switch to the other to do something else while waiting, is quite a nice thing to experience.Honestly, these computers are both so slow that if there was any input lag, I wouldn't be able to tell. The computers are perfectly happy getting input whenever their number is up. I'm happy to be able to do two things at once. And the peripherals are happy just getting used continuously, as opposed to me drooling into them while Mr. Core 2 Duo over here is doing whatever he wants as opposed to what I want done.If you have a laptop and desktop and you use both often, but don't like laptop sized keyboards, a USB KVM switch like this gives you that functionality without spending more money for a full sized switch that also connects the display, since your laptop already HAS a display and all.Another thing, this includes two perfectly good USB-A cables to connect from the switch to the computers, provided they aren't too far apart. If you're sharing a keyboard and mouse, for example, they will likely be close enough to view each display, so these should be quite helpful!

The USB cables are an automatic bump.I've purchased many switches/KVM and have never realized until today that basically none of them ever include wires. I always have to buy them or dig through totes of computer gear.Anyway, this works as expected. It's a nice little switch but again, having the cables is the bonus. There's many of these listed on amazon for around the same price. There's no reason not to grab this one that I can see. The cables themselves separate tend to run multiple dollars so it's not too bad. Some people may find 20 bucks a little steep but the ones without cables are often around 15 or so. To not have to dig for or buy more USB cables, I'm satisfied with the price. These are great for sharing keyboard+mouse. I used to use this "synergy" software but it's .. not good .. to put it polite. These make life so much easier.

Review of Aukokioula USB 3.0 Switcher 2 in 2 Out, USB Switcher 2 PC Sharing 2 Devices. The switching item received complete with two 1mtr long USB3.0 cables for connection to two computers, both cables well made and of a smooth rubber feel to the outer cover, the switching box has an aluminium cover with an attractive appearance. This item not powered by an external source which is usually my preference, I have found that when changing over from one computer to another on other non powered devices the connected USB peripherals can have problems if not first ejected from the PC so a little dubious about ordering this item. However this USB 3.0 switcher at present seems to cope without ejecting items as quite quick in changeover from one PC to another without seemingly loosing the power supply, thus ejection and possible data corruption bypassed, the top changeover push button has a positive click when pressed and a small LED indicates which port/PC is connected. As a small item it only accommodates two input USB 3.0 sockets for peripherals with the two other USB 3.0 connected to the PC items which is a little restrictive, however any more than two may require a powered supply, an attractive small unit that works as advertised and well for the present, hopefully this will continue.
