It is rare that a product does exactly what it says it does and does it well. I used the Valspar anti-slip paint to paint a plywood box that was designed as a step platform - a platform that you step on and off of for exercise, like a poor man's stepper machine. The smooth surface of the plywook was not ideal for stepping on and off rapidly, especially as one got tired which was the point of the exercise. I applied a primer and 2 coats of Valspar antislip. The paint has little bits of sand or something that feels gritty to the touch, like sandpaper but with a lot of space between the bits. The texture is perfect for what I do. It gives me a tremendous grip no matter how sloppily I step. Regardless of your situation, if your goal is to create a surface with secure footing and zero chance of slippage, this paint is great. It is expensive but worth every penny.

Stuff works perfectly. Stirred it in to the stain, painted it on to the deck and two years later still very pleased with it.

So far it shows promise. I mixed it with Thompson's Water Seal for a wood deck mixing the entire package in a gallon. After application and drying there seemed to be a lot of loose grit. Since then it has rained and the wet deck was skid-free; however, the true test will be this coming winter when the deck is in shadow and never dries out. I live in the Pacific Northwet.
