Bought the item thinking it is new. When I received it, it item was refurbished one. Also some part of the box was removed. Might have been serial number. After attaching to computers to see if it works the usb ports did not work. Don’t but this product.

Maybe it's a standard thing with a KVM switch as that I really don't know much about them but it requires not only a connection to the VGA port on each PC but also a free USB port on each. This forced me to move some things around a bit. Other than that, the setup was relatively easy and didn't take much time.So far, it seems like the pictures on the monitor from each computer are crisp and clear and I couldn't ask for more in that regard.Great price too compared to some of the other options.All thing considered, it is a solid buy.

So i have an old monitor from my basement which uses dvi ans also vga. Im using 2 laptops, one is a lenovo ans the other is a surface. Im using docks for both of them, one is a mini usb-c dock with the lenovo and the other is a mini display dock with the surface.It was challenging to try get the right cables. I bought the dvi to mini display output and the monitor still wont connect. There is no vga output on the surface or the surface dock. So i ended up buying a vga to mini display converter. After returning 5 different cables since none of them is working, i found this!Attaching the main vga from the monitor to the device and then attaching the vga from the device to the lenovo dock and doing the same thing, vga to the converter and to the surface dock, now it works. A simple button and it goes from one laptop to the other. No hassle at all!However, as one review did mentioned is that, the quality output on the monitor screen is very compromised. Just keep that in mind but it does the job.So thank you to the seller for selling this at an affordable reasonable price!

KVM switches have a long history in IT. They realy know what they are doing. They have been Building great switching systems for many years.Now that I’ve had a little more time to use this.I did gather the cables loosely and held them so that I can place it under a shelf with plenty of room to reach under and select what system to control.I have the end facing me that is the dongle for my mouse and my keyboard cord.This is the best that I could ever hope for. Get one and you wouldn’t be sorry. Only asking why I didn’t have one before.

SOOOO Awesome. So it not only allows two towers to control one monitor but I have a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse. With 3 usb ports it comes with im able to share those too. so I literally reach under my desk on top of the tower click the button on the device and it instantly changes. I have full control of the other tower. I click again and back again super fast. I dont even have to look cause the button is on top in center of device so you feel it right when you put your hand over it. I couldn't be happier.

I wanted my single monitor, single keyboard and single mouse, colocated on my stand up desk to quickly and painlessly switch between 2 laptops (home and work laptops). This was perfect! Easy to set up to both laptops to the KVM switch and the monitor to the KVM switch, plugged in my keyboard/mouse wireless receiver into one of the 3 USB ports on the KVM and presto; with a simple button press on the KVM switch I can switch between the two laptops (1-2 second delay on my monitor). I also found that I can plug a thumb drive into one of the KVM USB ports and can access by whichever laptop I have selected. For some reason, I can’t charge my iphone from the KVM switch (it does for a second then stops). I’ve been using this for a little over a month and it has been a game changer for me. I do have 2 cables to disconnect/connect each time I want to take my laptop somewhere else (one monitor and one USB) so take that into account if you are considering.

The switch allows you to connect a single monitor to two computers and push a button to swap. I have a home desktop and work laptop that I am using from home and i no longer have to swap the VGA cable.In addition, since the unit is powered by a USB connection to each device, I can plug the USB dongle for my wireless keyboard and mouse into it as well and switch that at the same time. This solves two issues: first, I no longer need to swap out the dongle, and second, it frees up the now-dedicated USB connector so no additional ports are being used.The monitor connected is no longer recognized in plug-and-play fashion, but there is no noticeable drop off in image quality after the correct resolutions are applied in each computer. My suggestion is to know in advance what depth of color and/or resolution you prefer before hooking up the switch.Overall I give it an A for doing even more than just the monitor switching I was looking for.
